First, if you’re not already enrolled as a Virgin America Elevate member (it’s free), sign-up with my link to earn 500 Virgin America points!  You can refer your friends to earn points, too!  It takes 4 to 6 weeks to get the points.

And via Points, Miles & Martinis, you can win a free trip to Hawaii with Virgin America’s sweepstakes.  You’ll get 250 free Virgin America points just for entering!

You must register by May 27, 2016.

Virgin America points are worth ~2.15 cents each towards Virgin America flights.  So 250 Virgin America points are worth ~$5.  But it only takes a minute to enter!

Sweepstakes winners will get 2 round-trip tickets from Los Angeles to Maui, 50,000 Virgin America points, 4 nights at the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa, and additional prizes.

Of course, the likelihood of winning is slim, but you should enter anyway!  Because it’s an easy way to earn free points!

Note:   The 250 bonus Virgin America points will NOT count towards earning elite status.  And the terms don’t say if they’ll keep your Virgin America points from expiring, which happens after 18 months of no account activity.

Ways to Earn & Use Virgin America Points

Virgin America has a revenue-based frequent flyer program, which means that the number of points needed for an award ticket depends on the cash price of the ticket.

If the cash price of a ticket is high, the points price will be high too.  But if a seat is available with cash, it will be available with points, so you do NOT have to worry about available award seats.

While Virgin America’s frequent flyer program uses a revenue-based system on their own flights, they have mileage-based charts for their partner airlines.

Virgin America partner airlines include:

You can transfer points from American Express Membership Rewards, Citi ThankYou, and Starwood Preferred Guest to Virgin America.

Or consider the Virgin America Signature or Virgin America Premium Signature cards if you need more points for a trip.  You can read my reviews of the cards here.

I’m glad you posted it, at least now I had the chance to enter. Maybe I’ll even win.

I’m really confused about why this was news today, considering this promotion started over a month ago. Were these just reminder posts? You guys are giving me hardcore deja vu! 🙂
