Update:   One or more card offers in this post are no longer available.  Check our Hot Deals for the latest offers.  View from the Wing wrote about a new offer on the Chase Marriott Premier credit card which promises 70,000 bonus points + 1 free night!  This is great news, because it is better than the current offer of 50,000 points + 1 free night.

You get the 70,000 bonus points and 1 free night valid at a category 1-4 Marriott after your 1st purchase.  The 1st year fee of $85 is waived for the 1st year, and there are no foreign transaction fees.

Every anniversary you also get 1 free night valid at a category 1-5 Marriott and 15 nights credit towards elite status (which gets you Silver elite status).

There is also another offer of 50,000 points + a credit of $75 + 1 free night  after using the card for the 1st time.  Personally, I prefer the 70,000 point offer because I value the extra 20,000 Marriott points (70,000 – 50,000) more than the $75 statement credit.

I also updated the regular (i.e. the non-premier version) of the Chase Marriott Rewards credit card offer to reflect a better offer of 30,000 points + 2 free nights + a $75 statement credit.  Offers elsewhere may not have the $75 statement credit!

There is also a Marriott business card offering 22,500 points + 2 free business nights, but I wouldn’t recommend applying for that because 22,500 points is a really low bonus in the current environment where many cards are offering at least 50,000 points.

I won’t be applying for the 70,000 point Marriott Premier card because I’m maxed out of Chase applications and I want to limit myself to only 3 to 4 Chase applications a year.  I’d rather apply for the Southwest Rapid Rewards Plus business card and have a shot at the companion pass instead.

If you have applied for the Marriott Premier credit card in the last 60 to 90 days, you should send a secure message (after logging in to the Chase website) to Chase asking them if they would match the current 70,000 bonus to your account.

I would keep the note short and to the point.  Here’s what I would say:

Dear Customer Service Representative,

I recently applied (October 2, 2011) for the Chase Marriott Premier credit card with a 50,000 bonus.  I’ve been using it as my primary card since then and love earning extra Marriott reward points on it.

However, I noticed that there is a current offer for 70,000 bonus points on the Chase Marriott Premier credit card.  I’d be very grateful if you could match my account to the current promotion!

Why does Chase have to have all the good credit card offers!
