Via Free Frequent Flyer Miles, you can get 50,000 Southwest points from the Southwest Airlines Premier business card after spending $2,000 within the first 3 months.  But you have to apply by November 8, 2014.

The Southwest Premier personal card already had a 50,000 point bonus, so it is nice to see the same bonus on the business card.

Which current credit cards offer primary car rental insurance. I did not renew bu chase united personal credit card which I always used for car rentals. I thought one of citi credit cards has primary insurance or a different chase card but I’m not finding this info. Could you let me know. Thanks, Lynda

@Nancy – Thanks for reading! That’s very strange and I’ve never heard of someone being denied because he works for a competing bank! Yes, I’d absolutely call back and explain that he was confused when entering the application, and could they please re-process it. Good luck!

@rick – Yes, she can transfer points to your account. And you can then transfer them to Southwest!

Darius, We love your blog and are constantly sending friends to it to learn more from you (and of course, to use your links, when possible!) My husband and I have recently applied for SW personal and business cards. My husband’s business card was declined because they said since he is a financial advisor for a major bank that they are competitors and he doesn’t qualify for a business account. The thing that doesn’t make sense is that he has been approved by Chase before for a business card under the same business name. I think we may have made the mistake of applying for it as a corporation (since that’s what he is an employee of) when maybe we should have applied as a sole proprietor. He uses his business cards when he buys client gifts, marketing materials, etc., and he is not reimbursed by the firm for those. Anyway, we absolutely hate the thought of losing our prospective companion pass status, because it has helped our family of 5 travel to many, many places we otherwise wouldn’t have been able to afford. In your opinion, is it worth another call to Chase to see if they can reprocess the application as a sole proprietor instead of linked to his bank employer? And if they say “no,” can he reapply this soon for the same card as a sole proprietor or will they automatically deny him since he just applied and was declined? Many thanks and sorry for such a long winded question!

@JohnD, thanks very much!

Kelli – I just received my business card in the mail yesterday 11/3 and it did not have any info with the card about the 50,000 miles after $2,000 spend so I called Chase and they confirmed that I will get the 50,000 miles after $2,000 spend. 🙂
