1. 50,000 Point American Express Business Gold. Just a quick reminder that the 50,000 point offer on the Business Gold Rewards Card from American Express OPEN. You get the 50,000 points after spending $5,000 within 3 months.
The bonus on this card has been zero points for most of the year, but American Express has run 1-day only offers for 75,000 points, but with a $10,000 minimum spending requirement. This offer is worth waiting for if you can manage the extra $5,000 in minimum spending.
2. 50,000 Miles Citi American Airlines Executive. Million Mile Secrets reader Ralph (thanks!) wrote in to let me know that there is a better offer for the Citi AAdvantage Executive World Elite MasterCard which offers 40,000 American Airlines miles after spending $3,000 within 3 months, and an additional 10,000 miles after spending $10,000 within 12 months. I’m not sure if the additional 10,000 miles is worth spending an extra $7,000 for, but it could be worth it for some of you.
The card has a $450 annual fee, but it also gets you access to American Airlines lounges. So it makes sense to get the card if you usually buy lounge access to American Airlines Admiral’s Club lounges. You can also earn 10,000 elite qualifying miles after spending $40,000 in a calendar year.
3. 45,000 American Express Delta Gold. This FlyerTalk thread discusses how to get a 45,000 Mile Delta credit card offer together with a $100 statement credit. This is similar to the previous offer for 70,000 miles which requires tweaking to get the offer.
You can modify Jared’s tip on the previous 70,000 mile Delta offer to get this 45,000 mile offer to work for you.
Some of you will feel uncomfortable with changing the URL to this offer, while some won’t. As always, do what you feel comfortable with.
If you do apply for this offer, remember that this isn’t my link so takes lots of screenshots and confirm the sign-up bonus when you activate the card.
4. 20,000 Points Virgin America. Barclays is again offering 20,000 points after your 1st purchase on the Barclays Virgin America credit card. 20,000 Virgin America points should get you ~$350 to $450 worth of tickets on Virgin America.
I’m not applying for the card because Virgin America doesn’t fly to Kansas City and because I’d rather save my Barclays application for their US Air or Frontier Air credit card. But the card could be useful for some folks who don’t have many Barclays’ inquiries and fly (or want to fly) on Virgin America.
