 Link:  Priority Club PointsBreak List

Via View from the Wing, Priority Club released their new PointsBreak list for hotels.  Hotels on the PointsBreak list cost only 5,000 points for a night (the regular rate is 10,000 to 50,000 points)!

Priority Club hotels include Candlewood Suites, Crowne PlazaHoliday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Hotel Indigo, Intercontinental Hotels & Resorts, and Staybridge Suites brand hotels.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any hotels which fit in with my travel plans, and I’m hoping the list will get updated since there aren’t many hotels on it currently.  But it could be useful for some.

You can get Priority Club points by:

Usually, transferring points from Chase Ultimate Rewards to Priority Club is not the best value, but it certainly could make sense for hotels on the PointsBreak list.  If you’re not averse to using the cash and points trick, you can use the cash and points trick to buy Priority Club points and then get a statement reimbursement of 1 cent per Ultimate Rewards points.  This is a better value than redeeming Ultimate Rewards points directly for Priority Club points.

Don’t count on all the hotels on the PointsBreak list being available through January 31 2013, because hotels may sell out and can be removed from the list at any time.

It doesn’t hurt to make a booking using points, because you can usually cancel them without a penalty (but read the cancellation policy before booking).

I have an AA Citii AA Advantage card I just received to replace an old one that is about to expire. I signed up a couple of yrs ago for.. At time of signing up I got 50,000 AA MILES (each card). Now after receiving this replacement for the one expiring card it wants me to call in and activate it.. From what I have read various blogs that after having this card for 18 months I could receive another 50,000 miles for renewing it.. ( So if true I now qualify)

That’s where I’m lost.. Do I call in to activate and ask for the AA Miles at time of activating the replacement card?? I just don’t won’t to loose these miles because I don’t know how to insure that I get them.. I am sure you are over whelmed with email but I would really appreciate any help you can give me.. I am against the wall because the old card is about to expire, actually I have 2 AA Citi Advantage Cards.. Just haven’t received a notice on the 2nd card expiring yet.. So I am at a loss as to what to do to get a possible 100,000 for the renewing of them both.. I guess I just need some guidance as to whether to renew this one in my hand and deal with the 2nd one when it comes in for renewing or if I do activate/renew this first one will I loose the chance of getting the 50,000 on the 2nd one because I failed to do them at the same time. (Because I received the 2 at the same time 2 yrs ago). I ask these questions because I read that after having these 2, AA Advantage cards for 18 months you can roll them over for another 100,000 for renewing the 2 of them….

I certainly hope you can take a minute and let me know what I should do..

I have to activate this new card soon..

Thanks so much..

It mentions on the pointbreaks webpage that these 5000 point hotel stays are valid for bookings up to Jan 31st 2013. Does that mean you could book a 5000 point stay now for a date later than Jan 31st?

Million Mile Secrets

@Jason – You sure can as long as it gives you the 5K points rate!

I’m gonna be in Jordan for 5 nights around New Year & I snatched the Dead Sea Resort for 5k points.

@Tim – Perhaps the next list will be better!

@Roshan – Glad it worked out!

Yeah, pretty slim pickings this time around. Only two hotels for all of Central and South America, only three for Mexico and one’s in a border no-go zone.
