Via Frequent Flyer University, you can sign up for an American Airlines Business ExtrAA account and earn 500 bonus points (worth ~$5,000 in spending on AA tickets) by using code EAGLE500.

However, the terms of the registration page say that EAGLE500 offer has expired, and you need to complete 1 flight to get the 500 points, but you may be able to use FLYAA or others from this FlyerTalk thread.

Business ExtrAA is American Airlines loyalty program for small businesses and you earn loyalty points in addition to the miles earned on regular flights.

More importantly, Parag links to a 1,000 point offer from Vertical Response (an email list manager) which offers 1,000 bonus points after making a $5 purchase before May 31, 2012.

The 1,500 points you earn – 500 points you earn from signing up and the 1,000 points from spending $5 on Vertical Response can be redeemed for 5 American Airline club passes!

Here’s the award chart of the goodies which you can redeem Business ExtrAA points for.

It is only 2,000 points for a domestic award ticket, 2,400 for American Airlines Gold status, or 3,000 points for a 1 year membership in the American Airline lounge.

Bottom Line:  This offer is targeted, but it doesn’t hurt to sign up and spend $5 to see if you get the points.

Just curious…since the date for the promotion ended some time ago, has anyone gotten points from this offer?

Million Mile Secrets

@Hope – I haven’t got the points as yet. You win some, and lose some!

I got the same call a few days ago. The timing sucks for me, I have two one-way tickets books (2 people going from A to B) and actually paid for it but have the return on SW using points. It’s an expensive route to buy the ticket back the other way…. decisions decisions.

I too received the phone call telling me it was a targetted promotion but they would honor it if I fly american by July 31st…….

I just received a phone call from a nice women as well! Too bad I won’t be traveling before July 31st off a trip paid for in cash.

I just received a call from a nice woman who told me that this was a targeted offer, and because I wasn’t targeted, I wouldn’t be receiving the points… BUT! If I or one of my employees fly on American by July 31st (I’m pretty sure that’s the date), they will credit the 1,000 points. Yay!
