Update:  It looks like this fare is no longer available.

I don’t normally post fare sales, but thought this could be interesting for some.

Via The Flight Deal, US Air is offering discounted flights from Dallas and Chicago to Honolulu.  The fares are only $385 for a round-trip to Honolulu Hawaii on US Air.

The deal appears to be valid from February 2014 to April 2014, but you have to buy your tickets within 2 weeks of departure.

See this post from The Flight Deal for more information.

Cheap US Flight to Hawaii 1
$385 From Chicago or Dallas to Honolulu!

The price on other airlines is ~$575, so you’re saving ~$190 with these tickets.  The good news is that you may be able to find flights over Spring Break when it is really hard to use miles for travel.

Cheap US Air Flight to Hawaii
Regular Price is $573 for a Flight to Hawaii!

Note that the price increases if you try to fly to a different Hawaiian island such as Maui or Kauai.

But you can always use your points to book cheap inter-island flights later on.  For example, it is only 5,000 United miles for a one-way flight on Hawaiian Air or Island Air within Hawaii.

Remember that you have ~24 hours to cancel a flight for free if you book it on Orbitz.

I Don’t Live in Chicago or Dallas

You can use British Airways Avios points to fly to Chicago or Dallas from your home airport.  For example, it is only 4,500 Avios points for a one-way from Kansas City to Chicago.

You could also use your Southwest Companion Pass, but Southwest flies to different airports in Chicago and Dallas.  So you’ll have to schlep to Chicago O’Hare or Dallas Fort Worth airport to get on your US Air flight to Honolulu.

Do note that if you book separate flights to get to Chicago or Dallas, you will almost certainly not get any assistance from US Air if you miss your flight to Hawaii.

Bottom Line

$385 to Hawaii for a round-trip from Chicago or Dallas could be a good deal for some!

would love to us British airways more from our home airport =Jacksonville, fl not happening have delta…and ?? united

I just snagged this fare from Apr. 2nd to 17th from ORD for $388, but even better (for me) is that I bought it with Citi ThankYou points that I’ve been sitting on so my cash cost was $0.00! Now to begin researching inter-island flight awards. Never been to HI, so truly looking forward to this. Thanks for this find Daraius!

You have to read the fine print on the Chase (or any other) 5% cash back quarterly bonus offers. Not all gas stations and movie theaters qualify.

@Richie Rich – Thanks for the update!

@Scott – That’s a good deal!

Hey Daraius, I still see flights available when I searched in the middle of April.
