Collecting miles & points is very much a solo activity.  You sign-up for credit cards alone, track the spending alone, and you might even spend hours planning trips alone.  All that changes when you go to a miles & points conference.  Sometimes for the very first time, you can meet other miles & points nerds. 🙂

Miles & Points Conferences Are a Great Way to Meet Other People

I love how mile & point conferences bring the online community to life, and you can finally put avatars and handles to faces!  The Chicago Seminars are my favorite of these conferences.  I’ve been going for the last 6 years, and the friendly community keep me coming back.

This year, Million Mile Secrets will have a booth where you can take home some MMS swag, and team members will be there to answer questions you might have.  I’ll also be presenting on Miles & Points for Beginners.

Here’s the 411 on the Chicago Seminars:

What:   Chicago Seminars, a miles & points conference

When:   Oct 19-21

Where:   Holiday Inn, Elk Grove

Cost:   $111

How to Register:   Chicago Seminars Eventbrite

My Top 3 Reasons Why I Love the Chicago Seminars

1.   Friendly Community

People are so welcoming at these conferences.  Everyone who attends are so excited to meet other miles & points fanatics, and it feels good to be “at home” with people who not only understand what you do, but are extremely passionate about it.

Visit Old Friends and Meet Some New Ones, Too

2.    Wide Selection of Topics

In the past, attendees have been able to learn about the benefits of collecting miles & points, to more advanced topics like award booking.  There’s something for everyone at these events!

You Can Choose Which Sessions You’d Like to Attend

3.   Low Price

Sometimes, it costs thousands of dollars to attend conferences.  These events are only ~$110, making it well worth the value.

Bottom Line

My favorite thing about attending the Chicago Seminars is that it brings the online miles & points community to life.  Million Mile Secrets will have a booth where you can take home some MMS swag and meet team members from MMS.  We look forward to seeing you there!
