FlyerTalker barelyelite posts about a potential opportunity to earn up to 2,500 free AAdvantage miles!

I wasn’t targeted for this promotion, but I still got 2,500 AA miles by signing up for email from American Airlines.

Free 2,500 AA miles

2,500 Free AA Miles!

Here’s how I got the 2,500 free AA Miles:

1) I unsubscribed for existing American Airlines Miles by logging into my AA account.

Login to AA.com and click “My Account” on the top.  Then click the “Email and Fare Alerts” tab and unsubscribe from your existing email subscriptions.

2) Get appraised and see how many miles you can earn by signing-up for AA email.

Personal Experience:

1) Firefox froze on me, so I switched to Internet Explorer which worked fine.

2) I skipped watching the video, but I don’t think that is necessary.

3) I got 2,500 AA miles for signing-up for email.  The terms indicate that I have to be an email subscriber for 3 months, and that the bonus miles will post 6 weeks after the end of 3 months.

4) I didn’t receive an email or promotional mailer directly so I’m not sure if I’ll get the miles (per the terms and conditions), but it was worth a shot for me!

2,500 Free AA Miles

I Was “Reappraised” with 2,500 AA Miles

Good Luck!

I will be away for the rest of the afternoon so I won’t be able to check-in, but let us know if you were successful (or not) in the comments!

As far as I remember, the sign up options were given during the appraiser “presentation” with te magic man lol that’s all. All my miles were posted without doing anything more then typing my email on that promo. The only thing I did only AA account was unchecking all the options I had signed up before I went to the promo.

I entered in the “appraiser” promotion and was awarded 3000 bonus miles. I also took a pront out of the confirmation. However, the miles never showed up in my account.

On checking with customer service, I was told that after the e-mail was appraised, I did not go in my AA account for signing up for all those notifications and hence I can not get these promotional miles.

Does any one remembers whether e-mail sing-up was automatic or one has to do it manually? None of my other family members remmebers having singed up seperately and all of them got the miles.

I entered on 7/26/11, and my miles finally posted on 11/28/11. Check your Aadvantage accounts…they should be there. I got 2,500 miles instead of the 3,000 I qualified for. I’m not complaining, though…free miles are free miles! 🙂

@Michelle – Thanks so much for sharing this! I got 2,000 miles which pushed me over 1 million miles with AA and lifetime gold status. Thanks so much for reminding us that it posted – it was quite the surprise!

i did this over 3 months ago and the miles never posted – has the miles posted for anyone else?

Maybe after the month closes..

@Israel Husarsky – I haven’t got the miles either. Perhaps they will post after December 1 when they no longer count towards lifetime elite status.

The link says this promotion is over.

guess I am too late.
