JetBlue is celebrating its 100th destination with a generous sale!

JetBlue will give you 20% off the base fare of any flight if you book through their promotion page and use the code “CELEBRATE“.  I found flights from New York to Havana, Cuba, one-way for $65 on February 6, 2017.

But you must book by November 30, 2016, for travel between December 7, 2016, and February 15, 2017.  There are other restrictions and blackout dates.

JetBlue has added its 100th destination!  Havana, Cuba, is JetBlue’s newest city.

And to celebrate, JetBlue will give you 20% off the base airfare when you visit the JetBlue promotion page and use the promotion code “CELEBRATE” to book your flight.  You can fly to Havana (or anywhere else) for cheap, and explore Cuba like Emily!

Here are the details:

  • Base airfare excludes government taxes & fees
  • You must book by November 30, 2016
  • Sale is for travel between December 7, 2016, and February 15, 2017
  • Flight must originate in a US JetBlue city (including Puerto Rico)
  • Non-stop flights only

There are a lot of restrictions.  This sale is NOT valid for:

  • Sunday travel
  • Blackout dates from December 16, 2016, to January 8, 2017
  • Previous bookings
  • Mint (Business) Class
  • JetBlue Getaways
  • Award flights (this sale does not affect the amount of points needed for any flights)
  • Partner, code share, or interline flights (including JetBlue flights when at least one segment is operated by a partner airline)

How to Book It

Promotion codes can only be redeemed at the JetBlue promotion page.  You won’t be able to find these deals through online travel agencies or other search engines.

Just enter the code “CELEBRATE” and search for the flights within the valid travel dates.  That’s it!

JetBlue says you’ll need to select the flights you want in order for discount to appear.  But in my experience the discount shows automatically for the flights.

Note:   You can use only 1 promotion code per booking.

JetBlue Tips

Folks with the JetBlue Plus Card or JetBlue Business Card from Barclaycard get a free first checked bag for the cardholder and up to 3 companions on the same reservation when you use your card to pay for your ticket.

Keep in mind you have 24 hours to cancel a reservation if the flight is at least 7 days away.  So, you can take advantage of these cheap fares and finalize plans later.

Hotel Information

If you book a sale flight, remember there are lots of ways to get cheap or free hotel rooms with points from credit card bonuses and spending.

To find hotels that can be booked with points, I use Hotel Hustle (which even shows you if rooms are actually available!) or AwardMapper.

Remember, you can transfer flexible points like Chase Ultimate Rewards or American Express Membership Rewards to different hotel programs.

Note:  If you prefer to book paid stays, check out discount sites like Orbitz, Expedia, or TravelPony for deals.  But remember you won’t get stay credits or points (and might not have your elite status recognized!).

Airbnb is another terrific way to save money on accommodations, especially for longer stays.  Here are some tips on how to negotiate a better Airbnb price, and how to find a safe and comfortable Airbnb.

Bottom Line

You must visit the JetBlue promotion page and enter the code “CELEBRATE“.  Book before November 30, 2016, for travel dates between December 7, 2016, and February 15, 2017.

There are lots of restrictions, so make sure you’ve looked them over before making plans!
