Here’s a nice deal for folks who already have lots of cards from popular US issuers!

The Avianca Vuela Card and Avianca Vida Card from Banco Popular both have increased sign-up bonuses.  You can earn 60,000 Avianca miles with the Avianca Vuela, and 40,000 Avianca miles with the Avianca Vida, after meeting minimum spending requirements.  But you’ll have to use a promo code to get the improved offers.

Emily and I don’t earn a commission on these cards, but we’ll always tell you about the best deals!

You Can Use Avianca Miles to Visit Anywhere Star Alliance Flies, Like Warsaw!

Here’s more about these deals.

Higher Offers for Avianca Credit Cards

Link:   Banco Popular Avianca Credit Cards

The Banco Popular Avianca Vuela usually offers a sign-up bonus of 40,000 Avianca miles after your first purchase within 90 days of opening your account.  But if you use promotion code “LM17WB” when applying, you will receive 60,000 Avianca miles after your first purchase within 90 days of opening your account!

This card also comes with:

Another perk of the card is a 50% discount on a round-trip coach award ticket between the US and Central America or Colombia, after spending $12,000 each year.  And another 50% discount after spending an additional $12,000.

Note:  You will NOT see the increased offer on the landing page.  But you should get the higher bonus if you enter the promo code into the application.

Enter the Promo Code on the Application Page

The Banco Popular Avianca Vida usually offers a sign-up bonus of 20,000 Avianca miles after your first purchase within 90 days of account opening.  But entering the same code, “LM17WB” into the promo code box on the application page will increase the bonus to 40,000 Avianca miles after your first purchase within 90 days of account opening.

The card also comes with:

Fly to Santiago, Chile, for 30,000 Avianca Miles One-Way in Coach

The landing page does NOT mention the increased bonuses.  So I can’t guarantee you’ll get the higher offer.

I also do NOT recommend these cards for folks new to the miles and points hobby.  That’s because there are better Chase credit cards you should open first.  And if you’ve opened 5+ cards from any bank (NOT counting Chase business cards and these other business cards) in the past 24 months, it’s unlikely you’ll be approved for those more valuable cards.

If you already have a lot of cards from other banks, this could be a good deal for you.

What Can You Do With Avianca Miles?

Link:   Avianca Award Chart

You can use your Avianca miles for flights on Star Alliance partners, like United Airlines and Air Canada.  And sometimes it will even cost fewer miles!

For example, a one-way Business Class flight from the US to Paris costs 63,000 Avianca miles.  That’s 7,000 miles less than United Airlines charges on partner airlines.  And Avianca does not pass along fuel surcharges!

You Can Use Avianca Miles to Fly Practically Anywhere, Including Paris

Bottom Line

Both Banco Popular Avianca credit cards have increased bonuses!

You can earn 60,000 Avianca miles with the Avianca Vuela Card or 40,000 Avianca miles when you open the Avianca Vida Card, after making a single purchase within 90 days of account opening. The higher offers do NOT appear on the landing page.  You’ll have to enter the promo code “LM17WB” to get the better deal.

These cards are a great option for folks who already have lots of credit cards from banks like AMEX, Chase, and Citi.  But if you’re new to the miles and points hobby, I would NOT recommend them.  Because there are better Chase credit cards you should open first.

We don’t earn a commission on these cards, but we’re committed to telling you about all the best deals!
