1. 15% Hyatt Discount
I wasn’t targeted for the game, but I was able to use the 15% discount by entering “DISC15” in the box while making a reservation. The rate was cheaper than the COSTCO and AAA rate as well!
That said, you sometimes may get breakfast or extra benefits with the AAA rate or special packages from the hotel, so double check if there are better options.
The good thing about using the discounted rate is that you can usually cancel the reservation with no penalty.
This makes the “DISC15” rate not only cheaper than booking a pre-paid rate, but also gives you more flexibility because you usually can’t cancel a pre-paid rate.
For example, in the screenshot below, the DISC15 rate is $152 for New Year’s Eve and the next cheapest rate, the AAA discount, is $161.
Don’t forget that Hyatt has a promotion where you can earn extra points for every night you stay in a Hyatt hotel.
The 15% discount appeared to work even on busy days such as New Year’s Eve, so you can use this rate to save a little extra money during the Holidays!
2. Hyatt Credit Card with Annual Fee Waived
The Mother-in-Law rule says that I should always let you know about the best credit card offers even if they don’t pay me a commission.
I’ve written before on how to get a $50 statement credit on the Hyatt credit card, but the annual $75 fee was not waived (when the post was published). You can still get a $50 statement credit AND the annual fee waived.
I’ve updated the Hot Deals tab to an offer which waives the $75 annual fee! But there isn’t a $50 statement credit with the direct link. I’m updating the Hot Deals tab, so please excuse its untidy appearance!
I like the Hyatt credit card because of the two free nights at any Hyatt hotel (these 2 free nights are in a suite if you’re a Hyatt Diamond member) and because you get a free category 1 to 4 Hyatt night every year after your first year. We used our free nights on our honeymoon in Paris!
The card also has no foreign transaction fees and earns 3X points at Hyatt hotels.
