So, if you’re headed to concerts this summer and will spend $100+ on a Live Nation purchase, then consider this offer!

And don’t forget, if you have the Citi Prestige, Citi ThankYou Premier, or Citi Chairman (no longer available) card, you can combine your Citi ThankYou points into ONE account.  And then transfer them to travel partners like Singapore Airlines, Virgin Atlantic, or Flying Blue for Big Travel!

Just note, this isn’t the best offer I’ve seen for the Citi ThankYou Preferred card.  And in the past, it was regularly 20,000 Citi ThankYou points after meeting minimum spending requirements.

Is the Citi ThankYou Preferred Card Good for Beginners?

The Citi ThankYou Preferred card is NOT the best card for beginners.  Because when you’re new to miles & points, I always suggest getting any Chase cards you want first.

That’s because if you’ve applied for ~5+ cards (from any bank) in the past 24 months, it’s unlikely you’ll be approved for most Chase cards.

And the Chase Sapphire Preferred is my favorite card for beginners, because it earns flexible Chase Ultimate Rewards points.

You can read my post about the top 5 cards for beginners here.

There are also similar no-annual-fee cards with better sign-up bonuses, like the Chase Freedom and Freedom Unlimited cards.  These cards both offer a sign-up bonus of 15,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points ($150) after you meet minimum spending requirements.

The Freedom Unlimited doesn’t have rotating 5X categories like the regular Freedom.  But you’ll earn 1.5% cash back automatically on all of your purchases.

But if you already have lots of cards or don’t qualify for any new cards from Chase, this offer for the Citi ThankYou Preferred card could be a good deal.  Because it does NOT have an annual fee, it’s a good card to keep long term to help improve your credit score and build a relationship with Citi.
