Good news for AMEX Delta cardholders!
Via Renes Points, if you have the AMEX Gold Delta personal or small business card, or the AMEX Platinum Delta card, you can get $100 off CLEAR. And skip long security lines at certain US airports!
I’ll explain more about this perk. And help you decide if it’s worth it for you!

With CLEAR, folks can save time by joining shorter airport security lines at certain US airports. And if you have 1 of the 3 AMEX Delta cards, like the AMEX Gold Delta personal or AMEX Platinum Delta card, you can save $100 off your yearly CLEAR membership, which normally costs $179.
Currently, CLEAR is available at 15 US airports, in cities like Seattle, San Francisco, Dallas, and in 2 airports in Washington, DC. They’ll be adding Detroit soon too!
So it’s worth checking to see if your city is included in the list, because CLEAR could save you time!
Who Should Sign-Up for CLEAR?
Read my post about who should sign-up for CLEAR instead of TSA PreCheck or Global Entry.
For lots of folks, it could make more sense to have TSA PreCheck, because it’s available at 130+ airports. Or to get Global Entry, because it comes with TSA PreCheck eligibility.
And don’t forget, Global Entry and TSA PreCheck memberships are good for 5 years. Whereas CLEAR charges an annual membership fee.
Plus, cards like the Chase Sapphire Reserve and AMEX Platinum come with TSA PreCheck or Global Entry fee credit. Check out my post about how to get a quicker Global Entry appointment here.
But, CLEAR might make more sense for families, because it’s only $50 to add a family member to your CLEAR membership. And kids under 18 are free!
With TSA PreCheck and Global Entry, each member must pay the full enrollment fee. TSA PreCheck is $85 for 5 years and Global Entry costs $100 for 5 years.
As usual, do the math and consider your travel habits to decide which option is best for you!
