I was in Miami for work last week and stayed at the Kimpton Surfcomber Hotel in South Beach, which is an IHG hotel.  It was perfect for a quick 3-day business trip.  Here’s the hotel’s official marketing video, which gives you a great overview of the hotel!

Although this was a paid stay for business, you can book a free stay here for 55,000 IHG points per night.  Remember, IHG is a Chase Ultimate Rewards hotel transfer partner.  So you can earn points with cards like the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card.  Then, transfer them directly to your IHG loyalty account.

And don’t forget, IHG offers a Points + Cash booking option.  So if you’re short on points, you can use a mix of points & cash to get a discounted stay!

Highlights of My Stay at the Kimpton Surfcomber Hotel

I’m a HUGE fan of Kimpton branded hotels.  Because they are all beautifully built in amazing destinations around the world.  The Kimpton hotels I’ve stayed in have comfortable rooms, delicious food, great service and amenities, and of course, my favorite part – the complimentary wine in the evenings and fresh coffee in the mornings.  It’s the little things in life that make all the difference.  And wine and coffee make my world go round!

Here are a few of my favorite things about the Kimpton Surfcomber hotel:

  • It’s right on the beach.  You are less than 1 minute from the ocean.  The hotel offers complimentary beach chairs and umbrellas for purchase.  There is also an on-demand food and drink service that you can order with a beach-waiter or via app right to your chair.
  • The pool is AMAZING.  Whether you want to take a dip, swim laps, get bronzed, or lounge in a cabana, there are options for a great day by the pool.  There is also a bar tucked in the corner and lawn games to play if you brought your kids.
Pool or Beach? Always One of the Toughest Decisions When Visiting South Beach!

The Social Club is the hotel’s restaurant, which is located on the ground floor of the hotel.  It’s really good and the atmosphere is terrific with a fun crowd eating, drinking, and socializing.  I ordered room service twice and it was delivered in less than 20 minutes both times!

The Food at The Social Club at the Kimpton Surfcomber Was Delicious!

The room was nice, nothing spectacular, and definitely not 5-star.  But for a quick business trip, it was all I needed!

If you want to earn IHG points for a free stay at the Kimpton Surfcomber Hotel in South Beach, consider applying for the IHG® Rewards Club Premier Credit Card.  It currently comes with an 140,000 IHG point bonus after spending $3,000 on purchases within the first 3 months of account opening.  Check out our full review of the IHG card!

I love earning IHG points because I can redeem them for free stays at one of my favorite hotels – the Kimpton Hotel Born in Denver.  It’s an alpine-style, modern luxury hotel with furnishings inspired by alpine aesthetic.  It has an absolutely beautiful interior, the rooms are to die for, floor-to-ceiling windows in each room, and beautiful art curated around the hotel.
