With the Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card, you can earn 80,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points after meeting minimum spending requirements. That’s currently the biggest sign-up bonus of ANY Chase Ultimate Rewards earning card!
So I’ve asked the Million Mile Secrets team to share how they’d use the bonus. Here’s team member Meghan!
Meghan: Thanks, Daraius! The Chase Ink Business Preferred card is on my wish list. Because I LOVE the flexibility of Chase Ultimate Rewards points. My favorite way to use Chase Ultimate Rewards points is to transfer them to airline and hotel partners for Big Travel. And I qualify for small business cards because I do a bit of reselling and run a vacation rental.
I don’t have an exact plan yet for how I’ll use the 80,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards point sign-up bonus from the Ink Business Preferred card. But here’s more about how I’ll likely use the points I earn!
What WE Would Do With the Chase Ink Business Preferred 80,000 Point Bonus
Big Travel With Free Flights & Hotel Stays
Once I have a plan for meeting the minimum spending requirements on the Chase Ink Business Preferred card, I’ll apply for it. And usually, I end up using my Chase Ultimate Rewards points for flights on United Airlines or stays at Hyatt hotels.
We often fly United Airlines because we live in a small city in Montana. And Denver (one of United Airlines’ hubs) is fairly close. So they often have the best routing whether we’re flying domestically or internationally.
And my family and I really like Hyatt hotels because they’re usually clean, with spacious rooms, and in good locations.
1. Last-Minute Flights on United Airlines
Like Joseph, I always keep some miles stashed in case my family and want to take off unexpectedly.
In the past, I’ve gotten LOTS of value using Chase Ultimate Rewards points for otherwise expensive fares. Because we’re in Montana, getting anywhere is usually pretty pricey. 😉
For example, my husband, sister, and I flew to Belize a few years ago using Chase Ultimate Rewards points I transferred to United Airlines.
Because it was a last-minute trip, the cash prices of the tickets were $700+ each. But we were able to use 35,000 United Airlines miles per ticket. And saved thousands of dollars!
With miles & points, it’s easier to plan (and afford!) a getaway when the travel bug bites!
2. Hyatt Hotel Stays
Another reason I love earning Chase Ultimate Rewards points is because I can transfer them to Hyatt. So I’d likely spend some of the sign-up bonus from the Ink Business Preferred card for free nights at a Hyatt hotel.
On a recent trip to Seattle, my mom, daughter, and I stayed at the Hyatt House Seattle/Downtown. Rooms here regularly go for ~$300+ per night. But you can use 12,000 Hyatt points per night for a free stay.
The hotel is in a fantastic spot, within walking distance to the Space Needle, the Experience Music Project Museum, and the infamous Pike Place Fish Market. And just a short cab or bus ride to some of the city’s great neighborhoods, like Queen Anne and Ballard.
If you wanted to spend a week in the fabulous city of Seattle, you could use the 80,000 point sign-up bonus from the Ink Business Preferred for 6 nights at the Hyatt House Seattle/Downtown. And save ~$1,800+ using 72,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points (6 nights X 12,000 Hyatt points per night)!
3. Treating Loved Ones
One of the best parts of this hobby is being able to bring my friends and family together. And because Chase Ultimate Rewards points are so flexible, it’s easier to use them to help plan trips for others!
Earlier this year I was able to get my whole family, including my sister who lives in California, free tickets to Panama using Chase Ultimate Rewards points I transferred to United Airlines. And when I earn the sign-up bonus on the Ink Business Preferred, I’d love to use the points I’d earn for another family getaway!

The card has a $95 annual fee, which is NOT waived the first year.
The Ink Business Preferred card is impacted by Chase’s tighter application rules.
So if you’ve opened 5+ cards from any bank (NOT counting Chase business cards and these other business cards) in the past 24 months, it’s unlikely you’ll be approved for this card.
Bottom Line
The Chase Ink Business Preferred card currently has an 80,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards point sign-up bonus after you spend $5,000 on purchases in the first 3 months after opening your account.
Being able to get small business cards can be beneficial to your credit card strategy. Because certain business cards do NOT count against Chase’s 5/24 rule. And having business expenses can make it easier to meet cards’ minimum spending requirements!
Team member Meghan would get Big Travel from the Ink Business Preferred sign-up bonus by using it for last-minute flights on United Airlines, Hyatt hotel stays, or to treat loved ones to a trip.
