Million Mile Secrets reader Choi comments:
When I make a charge to my Barclaycard Arrival Plus card and redeem my points for a statement credit, will the credit show up on my bill immediately? Or do I have to pay for the current charges at end of the statement and then get the credit on the following statement?
The answer depends on when Choi requests the credit. I’ll show you how it works!
Barclaycard Arrival Plus® World Elite Mastercard®

With the Barclaycard Arrival Plus® World Elite Mastercard®, Choi gets 40,000 Arrival miles (~$400 in credits on $100+ travel purchases) when spending $3,000 on purchases within the 1st 3 months of opening the account.
Other perks she gets with this card include:
- 2X points on all purchases
- No foreign transaction fees
- $89 annual fee waived the 1st year
The Arrival miles Choi earns with the Barclaycard Arrival Plus card can be redeemed as statement credits.
Note: Arrival “miles” can NOT be transferred to airlines! They’re points you can use for statement credits.Barclaycard has a helpful video that will show Choi how to redeem the miles. But after redeeming miles, how long is it until the credit appears on the statement?
How Long Will It Take to Get Your Barclaycard Arrival Statement Credit?
According to Barclaycard, statement credits will show up on Choi’s bill within 5 to 7 business days.
This is important because you don’t want to wind up carrying a balance and paying interest.
So you might consider redeeming your Arrival miles as soon as the travel purchase hits your account. That way you’ll have the greatest chance of getting your statement credit before your bill is due.
Bottom Line
You earn 2X miles per $1 spent on the Barclaycard Arrival card. Arrival miles can be redeemed as statements credits for 2% back towards $100+ travel purchases.
But you should keep in mind that once you request a credit, it can take 5 to 7 business days before it posts to your account.
