Via One Mile at a Time, you can once again earn up to 90,000 Virgin Atlantic miles from the co-branded Bank of America Virgin Atlantic credit card! And if you know how to use Virgin Atlantic miles, you can get a TON of value from this bonus.
I’ll give you some examples!

Huge 90,000 Virgin Atlantic Mile Sign-Up Bonus Returns
It’s been several months since we’ve seen the Bank of America Virgin Atlantic card offer was a 90,000 mile sign-up bonus. But I’ll remind you of the requirements for earning the full bonus.
- 20,000 Virgin Atlantic miles after your first retail purchase
- 50,000 Virgin Atlantic miles after you spend at least $12,000 in qualifying purchases within 6 months of account opening
- Up to 15,000 Virgin Atlantic miles on your cardmember anniversary – 7,500 bonus miles if you spend a total of $15,000, and an additional 7,500 bonus miles if you spend a total of $25,000
- 5,000 Virgin Atlantic miles when you add additional authorized users to your card
Those minimum spending requirements are pretty high. And the $90 annual fee is NOT waived the first year. But the card also comes with:
- 3 miles per $1 for Virgin Atlantic purchases
- 1.5 miles per $1 for all other purchases
- Companion Pass which saves you 50% of the miles for an award ticket
Is This a Good Deal?
This could be a great deal for folks who know how to get the best value from Virgin Atlantic miles. Flying on Virgin Atlantic usually comes with hefty fuel surcharges (sometimes over $1,000!), but you can find great deals when flying with their partner airlines.
For example, you can fly on Delta from the West Coast to Sydney in Business Class for just 75,000 Virgin Atlantic miles and ~$30 in taxes. And you can fly round-trip in First Class from the West Coast to Japan on ANA for 120,000 Virgin Atlantic miles and very little surcharges. That’s an excellent deal!
Just remember, Bank of America has tightened its application rules. And you can only open 3 Bank of America cards per rolling 12-month period (or 1 card every 120 days).
Want More Virgin Atlantic Miles?
There are a few ways to earn more Virgin Atlantic miles apart from the co-branded credit card. Virgin Atlantic miles transfer from all 4 major flexible points programs:
So if you earn points through any of these programs, you likely have more Virgin Atlantic miles available to you than you realize. That said, I wouldn’t transfer points to Virgin Atlantic unless you plan to book a sweet spot. Because Virgin Atlantic is often NOT as valuable as other transfer partners.
Virgin Atlantic miles aren’t too valuable when you use them for Virgin Atlantic flights. Because the fuel surcharges can be astronomical! But you can find excellent deals with Virgin Atlantic’s partners, like ANA and Delta.
