Many small business credit cards come with “hidden” discounts that we tend to forget about. AMEX Open, MasterCard Easy Savings, and Visa SavingsEdge can save you money at gas stations, hotels, rental car agencies, and more!
What’s great about these deals is they stack with the normal category bonuses you get with each card, and any additional discounts, coupons, or shopping portal savings you can find!
I’ll remind you how these discounts work and where you can save!
3 Programs That Can Save You More With Your Small Business Card

You can save 5% or earn 2X American Express Membership Rewards points (depending on your card) at select retailers with AMEX OPEN.
And all AMEX small business cards automatically get this discount, including:

You’ll currently earn the extra points or cash back at:
Again, this is in addition to the bonus category points or cash back you earn with your card.
For example, with the American Express SimplyCash, you can earn 3% cash back on US shipping purchases (if you choose this category). And if you ship through FedEx, you’ll earn another 5% cash back with AMEX OPEN.
2. MasterCard Easy Savings
MasterCard small business cards also get discounts at select retailers with the MasterCard Easy Savings program. And by creating a free account, you could earn as much as 25% back!
This program is only open to eligible cards. Unfortunately, MasterCard doesn’t provide a list of which cards work. But you can enter your card number on the registration page to see if it qualifies.
It only takes a few minutes to register, so it doesn’t hurt to sign-up to earn extra cash back when you make a qualifying purchase!
3. Visa SavingsEdge
Adding your Visa small business card to the Visa SavingsEdge program is easy and free! Plus, you can currently earn as much as 20% cash back on:
- Business expenses
- Rental Cars
For example, you’ll earn 2X Chase Ultimate Rewards points (2% back) on stays booked directly through the hotel with your Chase Ink Bold and Chase Ink Plus.
And when you register for Visa SavingsEdge, you’ll earn up to another 5% back at hotels like Wyndham, La Quinta, and Days Inn.
Don’t Have a Small Business Card?
You may qualify for a small business card even if you’ve just started your own business. And it doesn’t need to be a multi-million dollar company.
And if you have a sole proprietorship, you don’t need an Employer Identification Number (EIN) to complete a small business card application. You can use your social security number.
You’ll get AMEX OPEN discounts automatically, but you’ll need to sign-up for the other 2 programs. It only takes a few minutes to register.
Even if you don’t think you’ll make purchases at the participating retailers, it doesn’t hurt to sign-up just in-case!
What’s great about these programs is they stack with the cash back or points you already earn with your card, along with other discounts or coupons!
