Can you get the The Blue Business℠ Plus Credit Card from American Express and earn the 20,000 point sign-up bonus if you already have the AMEX Blue for Business card?

Yes!  The no annual fee AMEX Blue Business Plus is considered a different card product from the old AMEX Blue for Business card (no longer available).

So you can earn 20,000 AMEX Membership Rewards points after meeting minimum spending requirements with the new card!

And AMEX small business cards do NOT show up on your personal credit report.  This means they won’t count against Chase’s card limit.

Earn 20,000 AMEX Membership Rewards Points With the AMEX Blue Business Plus, Which Is Enough for a Round-Trip Delta Award Flight From Los Angeles to Seattle!

I’ll share why the AMEX Blue Business Plus offer might appeal to folks looking to boost their AMEX points balance!

With the no annual fee AMEX Blue Business Plus, you’ll earn 20,000 AMEX Membership Rewards points when you sign-up and spend $3,000 in qualifying purchases on the card within the first 3 months.

You’ll also get:

AMEX Blue Business Plus Approval
Earn 2X AMEX Membership Rewards Points on Up to $50,000 in Spending, Including Amazon Purchases, With the AMEX Blue Business Plus!

This card charges ~3% in foreign transaction fees.  So it’s NOT good to use overseas.

I like that you can transfer the points you earn with this card directly to ~20 travel partners, including Delta, Hilton, and Singapore Airlines.

The AMEX Blue Business Plus is a credit card.  And AMEX does NOT have a limit on the number of credit cards you can have.  But remember credit cards have a fixed spending limit, unlike AMEX charge cards.

To get the AMEX Blue Business Plus, you must qualify as a for-profit small business.

But AMEX does NOT have strict business income requirements.  Instead, AMEX will evaluate your small business card application based on your total income and personal credit score.  That’s because you’re personally responsible for the credit line on small business cards.

Here are some quick small business ideas, like selling on eBay or driving for Uber, which can make you eligible for a small business card.

As a reminder, you’re NOT restricted from using a small business card for personal expenses.  Emily and I both use our business card for personal expenses.  Although AMEX prefers you to use the business card only for business expenses.

And getting the AMEX Blue Business Plus will NOT impact your chances of getting certain Chase cards in the future.  Because AMEX small business cards do NOT show up on your personal credit report!

Bottom Line

The no annual fee AMEX Blue Business Plus is considered a different card product than the old AMEX Blue for Business card (no longer available).

So even if you have the old card, you’re eligible to earn 20,000 AMEX Membership Rewards points on the AMEX Blue Business Plus when you sign-up and spend $3,000 in qualifying purchases on the card within the first 3 months.

AMEX does NOT have strict business income requirements for card approvals.  They will evaluate your application based on your total income and personal credit score.

If you qualify for a small business card, the AMEX Blue Business Plus can be an easy way to boost your AMEX points balance.  Plus, it will NOT impact your chances of getting certain Chase cards in the future.  Because AMEX small business cards do NOT show up on your personal credit report!

Has anyone else applied for and been approved for this card without any hard pull apparent w/ any of the 3 personal credit bureaus? That was my experience. Approved instantly, but no subsequent sign of any credit pull that I can observe (Credit Karma & Credit Sesame, should, taken together, cover all 3, don’t they? As well as Discover, Citi, Barclays and Chase Credit Journey, which help cover the gamut). I *do* have a prior business banking relationship w/ AmEx (SPG bus.) for my LLC, so maybe they only pulled my Dunn & Bradstreet record for the business? Or made an entirely internal underwriting decision? Unusual, but I’m certainly not complaining.

I truly consider this card a PERFECT fit for my business as an I.T. Consultant so it’ll be in my wallet pretty much forever…even if they were to introduce a (reasonable) annual fee at some point in the future. Without a fee, and with that 0% promo APR (although I’ll still simply pay it off) and 2x MR up to $50K per calendar year, it’s a killer product for sure for small business owners!

Got mine a couple weeks ago. There is language in the agreement in BOLD that says I agree that this card will be used ONLY for business expenses.

I was of the understanding that Amex does have a limit on how many credit cards and charge cards a persin can have, no?

You article says there is no limit but I think I read somewhere else that there is one.

There’s no official limit to the number of AMEX credit cards or charge cards you can have at once! But the decision to approve you or not is still ultimately up to the bank. Here’s a post with more details: https://millionmilesecrets.com/2017/04/02/maximum-number-of-american-express-cards-you-can-have/

Can someone give me an idea of how much 20k points are worth?

When you transfer AMEX Membership Rewards points to certain travel partners, you can get $400+ worth of travel. We’ll have a post with examples soon!

Amazing
