Looking for a way to save on paid flights within the US?

Allegiant is adding 19 new routes and service to 3 new cities!  And these flights are on sale for as low as $39 each way.  This deal is good today, January 13, 2016.

Allegiant Is Starting Service to Washington, DC (Baltimore), Destin, Florida, and El Paso, Texas This Spring With 1-Way Flights for Only $39!

Find out about these new routes and whether or not this sale is a good deal!

New Routes Coming Later This Year!

Allegiant is a budget airline so it’s great to see them offering more options for folks like us who want to save!  And it creates more competition, which may cause other airlines who service the same cities to reduce their prices!

Here’s a look at the new routes:

These New Allegiant Routes Begin as Early as April 2016, Just in Time for a Spring or Summer Getaway!

And these flights are on sale starting at only $39 each way!  But you have to book by January 13, 2016, for travel through August 16, 2016.

Fly to Sin City for Just $39 One-Way!

Unlike other low-cost carriers such as Frontier, eligible Allegiant passengers can now get through security faster with TSA PreCheck!

Allegiant Charges Lots of Fees!

This is a terrific sale, if you can pack light!

Allegiant charges lots of fees for things such as checked bags and even carry-on bags.  So do the math before you book!

Note:  I usually recommend folks pay with a credit card that earns bonus points with airlines.  But Allegiant charges a fee of up to $8 each way to book with a credit card.  So in this case you might consider using your debit card.

However, by paying with a debit card you’ll lose the flight protection you get with cards like the Chase Sapphire Preferred.

This Sale Might Only Work for Folks Who Can Avoid the Fees!

I still prefer to fly Southwest within the US because everyone gets 2 free checked bags and you can change or cancel your flight without penalty.

Plus, if you have the Southwest Companion Pass, a friend or family member can fly with you for almost free on paid or award flights for up to 2 years!

Bottom Line

Allegiant is adding service to 3 new cities and 19 new routes.

Plus, you can get 1-way flights as low as $39.  You must book by today, January 13, 2016, for travel through August 16, 2016.

However, Allegiant charges lots of fees!  But this could be an excellent deal if you can pack light.

I love to fly Southwest because you get 2 free checked bags, easy cancellations, and a friend or family member can fly with you for (almost) free with the Southwest Companion Pass.

But it’s great that Allegiant is creating more competition, which will hopefully keep prices low!

Let me know if you find a cheap flight that works for you!

Was so glad when Allegiant offered these fares in my home airport (JAX) – we booked flights for Memphis & Richmond as soon as we saw this deal. Granted, it is more expensive because of the checked luggage (we decided to just buy 1 shared luggage and split the cost between my partner & me)

Overall we paid less than $200 for two round trip flights between the 2 new destinations!

Sometimes paying cash does make sense as well, so we’ll try to use AirBnB or hotel points to get accommodations for free 🙂
