INSIDER SECRET: A single perk from this card can get you a stay worth many, many more times than the annual fee.

The Marriott Bonvoy Boundless™ Credit Card comes with a welcome bonus of 75,000 Marriott points after spending $3,000 on purchases in the first three months of account opening.

This offer is worth considering just for the bonus alone –  it can get you hundreds of dollars in Marriott hotel stays, whether you prefer budget-friendly hotels like Residence Inn or top-tier luxury brands like St. Regis and JW Marriott. But it’s also valuable as a long-term keeper because the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless card’s benefits and perks can save you money and give you peace of mind.

You can redeem Marriott points at luxury hotels like the JW Marriott Los Cabos – but it’s the benefits and perks of the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Card that make it worth keeping long term. (Photo courtesy of Marriott)

With the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless™ Credit Card, you’ll earn a 75,000 Marriott point bonus after spending $3,000 on purchases in the first three months of account opening.

Note: This card is subject to the Chase 5/24 rule and other restrictions. Have a look at our full review of the Chase Marriott Bonvoy Boundless card for all the details.

That’s more than enough Marriott points for two nights at a category 5 Marriott resort, like the Westin Hapuna Beach Resort in Hawaii, where paid rates exceed $500 per night in peak season. Or you could stretch your points for 10 nights at a category 1 TownePlace Suites or Fairfield Inn and Suites instead.

Treat yourself to a stay at The Westin Hapuna Beach Resort in Hawaii. The welcome bonus from the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless card is more than enough for two nights there.

Beyond the awesome bonus, the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless comes loaded with extras that make it worth much more than the $95 annual fee. Here’s what you’ll get.

1. Free Night at Select Marriott Hotels Every Card Anniversary

This single perk can knock out the annual fee cost for the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless and then some. Each year on your card anniversary, you’ll receive a free night certificate valid at participating Marriott hotels that cost up to 35,000 points per night.

You could use your free night at a pricey category 5 hotel like the Courtyard New York Manhattan / Fifth Avenue, where a paid room during popular times can cost more than $600.

You can get a stay worth many times more than the annual fee when you use your anniversary free night in expensive cities like New York.

Even if you redeem your anniversary night at a lower-category Marriott hotel, it’s not difficult to get a value of more than the $95 annual fee. If you’ll have at least one Marriott stay a year, it’s worth considering the card just for this benefit.

2. Automatic Marriott Silver Elite Status (and Spend Your Way to Gold)

With the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless, you’ll receive automatic Silver Marriott Bonvoy elite status. That’s their lowest tier of status, and normally requires 10 nights per calendar year. It gets you perks like:

  • 10% points bonus on paid stays
  • Priority late check-out (based on availability)

Also, if you spend $35,000 or more on purchases in an account anniversary year, you’ll earn Marriott Gold elite status, valid through December 31 of the following year.

Normally, you’d have to spend 25 nights at Marriott in a calendar year to earn Gold elite status. It comes with:

  • 25% points bonus on paid stays
  • Upgrades to a better room when available
  • 2:00 pm late check-out (based on availability)

3. 15 Elite Night Credits per Year

For folks who are looking for a boost to reach their next status level, the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless gives you 15 elite night credits each year. That’s handy if you’re short a few nights to reach the next tier (for example, if you’re Gold and want to achieve Platinum status).

This can help you unlock more valuable perks, like later checkout and better upgrades.

4. Rental Car Insurance

When you rent a car, pay for the entire rental with your Marriott Bonvoy Boundless card, and decline the rental company’s collision damage waiver (CDW), you’ll get secondary rental insurance coverage for damage due to theft or collision in the US.

If you’re renting outside the US or if you don’t have your own automobile insurance, you’ll get primary coverage.

5. Trip Delay Reimbursement

The Marriott Bonvoy Boundless can make travel delays a little more bearable. If your flight (or other common carrier) is delayed more than 12 hours or overnight, you and your family can be reimbursed up to $500 per ticket for expenses like meals and hotels.

6. Lost Luggage Reimbursement

With Marriott Bonvoy Boundless, you and your family are covered up to $3,000 per person if the carrier damages or loses your luggage.

7. Purchase Protection

The Marriott Bonvoy Boundless offers purchase protection on eligible items. If your new purchase is damaged or stolen within 120 days of buying it, you can be reimbursed up to $500 per claim and $50,000 per account.

8. Extended Warranty

With extended warranty, the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless card will extend the time period of a US manufacturer’s warranty by an additional year, on eligible warranties of three years or less. So you won’t have to pay for a costly extended warranty yourself on big purchases.

9. No Foreign Transaction Fees

Nobody likes paying foreign transaction fees – they can add a significant chunk of money to your overseas travel expenses. But you won’t have to worry when you use your Marriott Bonvoy Boundless card abroad.

10. Travel and Emergency Assistance Services

If you’re traveling and need help with a medical or legal referral, tracking down lost luggage, translation services and more, you can call the Benefits Administrator for help 24 hours a day. Any costs incurred are your responsibility.

Bottom Line

The Marriott Bonvoy Boundless™ Credit Card is a great card to consider if you like Marriott hotels. You’ll earn 75,000 Marriott points after spending $3,000 on purchases in the first three months of account opening – that’s enough for a luxury hotel splurge or multiple free nights at budget-friendly Marriott hotels.

However, it’s the benefits and perks of the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless that make it worth keeping for many folks year after year, even with the $95 annual fee, including:

  • A free night at participating Marriott hotels (up to 35,000 points per night) each account anniversary – potentially worth hundreds of dollars
  • Automatic Silver elite status (bonus points, late check-out when available), plus earn Gold elite status when you spend $35,000 or more in an account anniversary year
  • 15 elite night credits per year (a nice boost to your next elite status tier)
  • Rental car insurance
  • Trip delay reimbursement
  • Lost luggage reimbursement
  • Purchase protection
  • Extended warranty
  • No foreign transaction fees
  • Travel and emergency assistance services

I have the Marriott Bonvoy (Personal) Marriott Bonvoy(Business), both issued by Chase and Also the Amex Business Bonvoy (previous SPG business). I am not sure I need all of these but haven’t cancelled any yet. I’m a little overwhelmed. Can you offer any insight? Maybe a reason why I should keep ALL of these? Thanks
