Hyatt is a on a roll with their expansion! They’ll soon partner with Small Luxury Hotels of the World, and just bought Two Roads Hospitality. This nearly doubles the places you can earn and use Hyatt points!
We don’t have details yet about how many points you’ll need. But as it stands, even the most luxurious Hyatt hotels only cost 30,000 points per night. And it’s easy to earn points for free Hyatt stays with cards like the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card or Ink Business Preferred Card, because Hyatt is a Chase Ultimate Rewards transfer partner.
Plus, these hotels are in fantastic locations where there currently aren’t any Hyatt hotels.
Here are amazing new additions from all over the world!
10 New Hotels Where You Can Earn and Redeem Hyatt Points
Hyatt currently has ~700 hotels. That’s not a lot for a global hotel brand. They seem to know it, and are rapidly adding options!
Hyatt’s partnership with Small Luxury Hotels of the World goes into effect later this year. That will give you access to 500+ more destinations.
And we let you know Hyatt bought Two Roads Hospitality, a small chain with 87 hotels. That will go through by the end of 2019.
The end result is nearly double the choices where you can earn and use your Hyatt points!
Hyatt points are easy to earn directly from the World of Hyatt Credit Card. Or transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Hyatt from cards like the Chase Sapphire Preferred, Ink Business Preferred Card, or Chase Sapphire Reserve.
Here are 10 brand new places where Hyatt doesn’t have a presence now, but will soon!
1. Villa Orsula Dubrovnik
Small Luxury Hotels of the World isn’t kidding when they say “small” – Villa Orsula Dubrovnik only has 13 rooms! Hyatt doesn’t have any locations in Croatia. But you’ll be able to stay in a 1930s villa in Dubrovnik’s Old Town, right next to the Adriatic Sea.
Croatia is a hot destination. Team member Emily loved visiting with her friends. This is a big win for Hyatt!
2. Cordée des Alpes
How about a ski trip to the Swiss Alps? Hyatt has a hotel in Zurich, but nothing in the countryside. You could stay at the Cordée des Alpes in Verbier. If skiing isn’t your thing, you can still enjoy the wooden lodge, complete with a pool, spa, and sauna. And the views look incredible!
I’d personally love to go in summer to explore the forests and meadows – and the charming Swiss mountain villages!
3. Mirror Lake Inn
Keep this one in mind for leaf peeping next year, or for a romantic getaway from the city. Mirror Lake Inn is set on Lake Placid in upstate New York, surrounded by the vast and quiet Adirondack Mountains.
Rooms here start at ~$500 a night, so using Hyatt points would be a huge savings! The fall colors are amazing here. And summer is excellent for hiking in the mountains!
4. Thompson Zihuatanejo
This part of Mexico is known for its white sand beaches along the Pacific, Playa La Ropa. It owes its popularity to the nearby city of Ixtapa, which boomed in the 1970s – and bought hordes of tourists. You could stay at the Thompson Zihuatanejo and have your own retreat along the beach.
It’s also a nice change from other resort cities more popular with Americans, like Cancun or Los Cabos. Get out there and explore!
5. Castle Hot Springs
This resort is an hour north of Phoenix. And true to its name, you’ll find thermal waters at Castle Hot Springs. This place has history, too. It was used as a retreat for recuperating World War II soldiers, and was once a hideaway for high society.
But now you can stay in one of the 32 rooms and explore what’s truly an oasis in the desert.
I bet this would be a fantastic place to escape a cold winter in other parts of the country!
6. Diamonds Star of the East
Hyatt members will soon get unparalleled access to new places throughout Africa, like Diamonds Star of the East in Zanzibar, Tanzania. Rooms here start at ~$800 and go up from there. So you can save big when you stay in one of 11 luxurious villas with access to the hotel’s private beach.
This would make an incredible honeymoon trip, or a place to enjoy summer south of the equator. I’ve been wanting to visit Africa for a long time, so I’m glad Hyatt is adding all these new locations!
7. Rusty Parrot Lodge & Spa
I love our country’s national parks. But there aren’t a lot of ways to use points when you stay in or around them. Luckily, you can soon use Hyatt points to stay at the Rusty Parrot Lodge & Spa in Jackson, Wyoming, near Grand Teton National Park (in my opinion, one of the most beautiful).
I’m always excited when points make it easier to explore nature, so this is a welcome addition!
8. Alila Manggis
How about staying in a secluded resort in a coconut grove, next to the sea in Bali? You’ll get exactly that at the Alila Manggis resort.
You can go diving, do yoga, or just take in how tropical and beautiful Indonesia really is.
Bali has long been a getaway for Australians. It might be time to add it to your list!
9. Stowe Mountain Lodge
I went to college in Vermont, and fell in love with the mountains, fall weather, and coziness of the state. But one thing’s for sure – you’ll pay a lot to experience it.
If you like to ski, hike, or be outdoors, stay at the Stowe Mountain Lodge, which serves as a great base for all the outdoor activities Vermont has to offer.
There’s a golf course on the grounds. You can canoe, kayak, or paddleboard in the summer. And of course, ski all winter in some of the best powder in the US.
Staying here could make for a romantic weekend or fun vacation with the family. And if you’ve never been in fall, you must put it on your list!
10. Blanket Bay
Queenstown, New Zealand, is considered one of the most beautiful places on earth. Team member Keith visited here with his wife and loved it!
You’ll soon be able to save big on a luxurious stay at Blanket Bay, a secluded boutique lodge on Lake Wakatipu.
Plus, the South Island has so much to keep you busy, like hiking, zip lining, and sky diving (for the truly brave). Queenstown is an adrenaline hub!
You can also touch glaciers or visit the nearby Southern Lakes region and Fjordland to keep your Instagram full of beautiful photos. I’ve only been to the North Island and can’t wait to return to New Zealand. I’m definitely putting this one on my list.
And considering paid stays here begin at $600+ per night, I’d definitely use Hyatt points instead.
Bottom Line
Hyatt’s new partnership and acquisition will soon open up more of the world to folks with Hyatt points. You’ll also earn points for your paid stays!
We’ll let you know more details when we get them. For now, we’re dreaming about the new places we’ll be able to see.
Check out the Small Luxury Hotels of the World and Two Roads Hospitality locations for more ideas and inspiration for your next trip!
