Via One Mile at a Time, IHG is giving folks a 100% bonus when buying 5,000+ IHG points through March 22, 2018.  This promotion could save you even more than the Points & Cash trick!

You Can Use IHG Points to Book an Award Night at the Lush Kimpton Surfcomber in Miami

Here’s what you need to know about this deal.

100% Bonus When You Buy IHG Points

Link:   Buy IHG Points With a 100% Bonus

Through March 22, 2018, you’ll earn a 100% bonus when you buy 5,000+ IHG points.  Points must be purchased in 1,000-point increments, and you’re limited to buying 60,000 purchased IHG points per calendar year (NOT counting the bonus).

IHG normally sells points for 1.15 to 1.35 cents each.  Or, if you’re comfortable with it, you can “buy” points for as little as ~0.6 cents each with the IHG Points & Cash trick.

But with this promotion, you can pay even less (just ~0.575 cents per point)!

Is This a Good Deal?

Definitely!  This is a great bonus if you need a few more IHG points to top-off your account for an award stay.  I usually find the biggest savings at the highest category hotels and the lowest category hotels.

For example, a night at the category 1 Candlewood Suites: League City in Texas costs $110+or 10,000 IHG points.

Candlewood Suites: League City Is Just South of Houston

With this 100% bonus, you could buy 10,000 IHG points for $67.50, and save $42.50 per night!  ($110 per night – $67.50 cost of purchased points).

Or you could use your points for IHG PointBreaks hotels, where you can get rooms for ~$29 per night if you purchase points with this deal.

Chase IHG Increased Offer

A quick way to earn IHG points is to sign-up for the Chase IHG card.  It currently comes with 60,000 IHG points after spending $1,000 on purchases within the first 3 months of account opening.  Plus a $50 statement credit after your first purchase!

This is one of the few cards NOT restricted by Chase’s application rules.

Bottom Line

Through March 22, 2018, you’ll earn a 100% bonus when you buy 5,000+ IHG points.  You can buy a maximum of 60,000 points per year, NOT including the bonus.

This is a good deal for folks who need to top-off their account for an award.  But it can also be a good way to stay at certain IHG hotels at a discount!  Do the math and see if this deal makes your upcoming hotel stays cheaper.

I am not seeing the deal. I checked the Ft. Myers Beach Area. Even at the greatest discount (buying the most points) it is cheaper to pay cash. In my example, I would have used $100.00 in points (20,000) to get a room that I could pay $75.00 cash.
