There are always new and exciting credit card offers coming out.  So I’ve asked Million Mile Secrets team member Meghan which card offer tempts her the most right now.

Meghan:  Thank you, Daraius!  The Chase Ink Business Preferred is the card I’m most interested in getting next.  My husband recently got it, but I want my own! 😉

I LOVE the flexibility of Chase Ultimate Rewards points.  But there are a few other reasons why this card is on the top of my wish list.  I’ll explain why!

The Chase Ink Business Preferred Card Is a Fantastic Deal

Like Daraius, Chase Ultimate Rewards is my favorite points program.  That’s because they’re relatively easy to earn, are flexible, and have great transfer partners.  Which is why we recommend them as the best for beginners in the miles and points hobby, too!

With the Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card, you can earn 80,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points after spending $5,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening.  That’s currently the biggest sign-up bonus of ANY Chase Ultimate Rewards earning card!

The sign-up bonus alone is worth $1,000 in travel booked through the Chase Travel Portal.  Or even more when you transfer them to Chase’s terrific airline and hotel transfer partners!

Plus, if you already have other Chase Ultimate Rewards cards (like I do!), you can combine your points to get even more value from your rewards.

I Already Have the Chase Sapphire Reserve and Chase Ink Plus (No Longer Available). So I Can Combine Points From Multiple Chase Ultimate Rewards Cards to Get Even More Big Travel With Chase’s Travel Partners!

Here are a few examples of what you can get with 80,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points:

How I Plan on Using the Sign-Up Bonus

I don’t have an exact plan for how I’ll use the 80,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards point sign-up bonus from the Ink Business Preferred card.  But most of the time I use my Chase Ultimate Rewards points for flights on United Airlines or stays at Hyatt hotels.

I fly United Airlines a lot because I live in a small city in Montana.  And Denver (one of United Airlines’ hubs) is fairly close.  So they often have the best routing whether I’m flying domestically or internationally.

And I really like Hyatt hotels because they’re usually clean, with spacious rooms.  You can find them in a wide variety of locations, including big cities and many tropical destinations!

Qualifying For a Small Business Card

qualify for small business cards, like the Chase Ink Business Preferred, because I resell items on eBay and run a vacation rental.

Lots of folks qualify for small business cards and don’t even realize it.

Essentially, if you earn income for performing a service or selling goods, you likely qualify for a small business card.  And anything you do as an independent contractor should also count, especially if you get a 1099 form for it!

Here’s more about how you can qualify for a small business card (and why you should get one!).  And check out this post for information about filling out a Chase business credit card application.

When you open the Chase Ink Business Preferred card, you’ll earn 80,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points after you spend $5,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening.

You’ll also get:

  • 3X Chase Ultimate Rewards points for every $1 you spend on travel, shipping purchases, internet, cable and phone services, advertising purchases made with social media sites, and search engines (up to a maximum of $150,000 in combined purchases per account anniversary year)
  • 1X Chase Ultimate Rewards points on all other purchases
  • Up to $600 in cell phone insurance when you pay your cell phone bill with the card
  • 25% bonus when you redeem points through the Chase Ultimate Rewards travel portal
  • Primary auto rental insurance (CDW) when renting for business purposes, plus purchase and extended warranty protection

The card has a $95 annual fee, which is NOT waived the first year.

The Ink Business Preferred card is impacted by Chase’s tighter application rules.

So if you’ve opened 5+ cards from any bank (NOT counting Chase business cards and these other business cards) in the past 24 months, it’s unlikely you’ll be approved for this card.

Bottom Line

Team member Meghan has her sights set on getting the 80,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards point sign-up bonus from the Chase Ink Business Preferred card.

She loves earning and using Chase Ultimate Rewards points (like I do!) for Big Travel.  And she qualifies for small business cards because she does a bit of reselling and runs a vacation rental.
