Buy IHG Points With a Bonus

Link:   IHG Purchase Points Promotion

Through November 3, 2017, you can earn up to a 100% bonus on purchased IHG points.

Points must be purchased in 1,000-point increments, and there’s a limit of 60,000 purchased IHG points per calendar year.

IHG normally sells points for 1.15 to 1.35 cents each.  Or if you’re comfortable with it, you can buy points for as little as ~0.6 cents each with the IHG Points & Cash trick.  But with this promotion, you can pay even less.

Note:   You must purchase a minimum of 5,000 IHG points to activate the 100% bonus.

Is This a Good Deal?

This is worthwhile if you need a few more IHG points to top-off your account for an award stay.  And it could save you lots if you would have booked at paid stay at normally expensive IHG hotels.

Plus, the IHG PointBreaks list is publishing later today!  So with this sale, you can  book rooms for ~$29 per night if you purchase points with a 100% bonus.

But as always, do the math to make sure you’re getting the best deal.

For example, a night at the Holiday Inn Express Westley North- Patterson Area costs ~$110, or 10,000 IHG points.

With a 100% bonus, you could buy 10,000 IHG points for ~$68, and save ~$42 per night (~$110 cost per night – $68 cost of purchased points).

An easy way to earn IHG points is to sign-up for the Chase IHG card.  Right now, it comes with a limited-time increased sign-up bonus of 80,000 IHG points after you spend $1,000 on purchases in the first 3 months of account opening.  Plus a $50 statement credit after your first purchase!

You can also register for the current IHG Accelerate promotion, where you will earn bonus points for completing different tasks, like staying at multiple brands, or booking a weekend stay.

Bottom Line

Through November 3, 2017, you can buy 5,000+ IHG points and earn up to a 100% bonus.

This can be a good deal if you need to top-off your account for an award.  Or if you want to reserve IHG PointBreaks at an especially low cost!

Extended until November 9, 2017.

OK, so I can buy 120,000 points (60,000 plus 60,000 bonus) for $600, a great deal. But my husband would have to pay $690 for those same points. We are both IHG platinum due to the credit card and have basically the same number of paid stays. What's up with that?

One of you are targeted and the other is not.
