Want more United Airlines miles?  You can get up to a 75% bonus on purchased United Airlines miles through July 3, 2017.

This deal could be worth it if you have a particular trip in mind, or need a few extra United Airlines miles to top-off your account.

I’ll explain the details of this offer.  And help you decide whether it makes sense for you!

Get a Bonus When You Buy United Airlines Miles

Link:   United Airlines Buy Miles Promotion

Through July 3, 2017, you can earn up to a 75% bonus when you buy United Airlines miles with their latest promotion.

Miles must be purchased in increments of 1,000.  And the more miles you buy, the bigger bonus you’ll earn:

  • 35% bonus when you buy between 5,000 and 24,000 miles
  • 75% bonus when you buy between 25,000 and 85,000 miles

Just remember, it may take up to 48 hours for the miles to post.  And purchased miles do NOT count towards elite status.

Plus, you can only purchase 150,000 miles per account per calendar year.  And United Airlines miles expire in 18 months, unless there’s activity in your account.

Is This a Good Deal?

If you’re planning a trip and need more United Airlines miles for a specific award, this deal could definitely be worth it.  But it probably doesn’t make sense for less expensive coach flights.

As always, I suggest doing the math to make sure you’re getting the best deal.

United Airlines Buy Miles Promotion
This Deal Might Be Worth It for Folks Who Want to Fly in Business Class!

For example, you need 25,000 United Airlines miles for a round-trip coach ticket within the US.

With a 35% bonus on a purchase of 19,000 United Airlines miles, for example, you’ll pay ~$715 (including taxes).  For a total of 25,650 United Airlines miles (19,000 miles + 35% bonus).  And the majority of round-trip coach tickets within the US cost LESS than ~$715!

But this deal might be good for folks looking to book Business Class award flights on United Airlines or their airline partners.  Or if you need to top-off your account for a specific award ticket.

And don’t forget, there are sometimes even better offers to look out for!

More Ways to Earn United Airlines Miles

You can instantly transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points at a 1:1 ratio to United Airlines from cards like the Chase Sapphire Reserve, Sapphire Preferred, and Ink Business Preferred.

Or consider a card like the Chase United MileagePlus® Explorer card.  It currently comes with a 50,000 United Airlines mile sign-up bonus after meeting minimum spending requirements.

And don’t forget to check out my series on all the ways to earn and use United Airlines miles.

Bottom Line

Through July 3, 2017, you can earn up to a 75% bonus when you buy United Airlines miles.

This could be a good deal if you’re just shy of the miles you need for a specific award ticket.  Or if you want to book an expensive Business Class flight.  But it probably doesn’t make sense for folks looking to fly coach.

When I am unable to get Lan (AA partner) mileage tickets to Chile, I use United. if you get in on time you can get RT NYC-SCL for 60k miles. Great deal. We have to go to Chile annually.

We just booked our first trip, for later this year, with the saver awards. It amazes me that this is even possible!

I would love to try Thai airways in first class for sure!

Saver rewards

The biggest value comes from Singapore Airlines first class (Saver)!
