Daily Getaways Are Your Chance to Get Nearly 50% off the Usual IHG Points Rate

In past years, these packages have sold out quickly – sometimes within minutes.  So if you’re interested, set a reminder so you don’t miss it!

IHG hotels include Candlewood SuitesCrowne Plaza, EVEN Hotels, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Club Vacations, Holiday Inn Express, Holiday Inn Resorts, Hotel IndigoIntercontinental Hotels & Resorts, and Staybridge Suites brand hotels.

Is This a Good Deal?

Depending on how you use your points, it can be!

Buying points could make sense if you redeem them at expensive hotels in cities like Miami, New York, or Paris.  Or for booking 5,000 IHG points PointBreaks nights.

For example, you could buy 50,000 IHG points for $299 and get a free night at the beautiful Intercontinental Miami.

IHG Daily Getaways 2017
You Can Save Hundreds of Dollars Using IHG Points for Free Nights at Expensive Hotels

Award nights here cost 30,000 IHG points per night, so you’d have 20,000 IHG points to spare (50,000 points – 30,000 points)!

Plus, rooms here can cost ~$500+ including taxes and fees.  So you can save a lot of cash using the IHG points you purchase for a free stay at an otherwise expensive hotel.

50,000 IHG points is also enough for 10 free nights at an IHG PointBreaks hotel that cost 5,000 IHG points per night!

That said, you should check the prices of the IHG hotels you’re considering before you decide to take advantage of this Daily Getaways deal.  Because you may be better off paying cash for cheaper hotels.

Keep in mind, IHG points expire after 12 months of no activity in your account.  Or, they never expire if you have elite status with IHG (like the free Platinum status you get with the Chase IHG Rewards Club Select Credit Card).

IHG also frequently has 100% bonus sales that allow you to buy points at nearly the same rate.  And you can use the IHG cash & points trick to buy points cheaply.

Bottom Line

At 1:00 pm Eastern Time today, April 12, 2017, you can purchase discount IHG points through Daily Getaways.

You can buy points for as little as ~0.58 cents per point.  IHG normally sells points for 1.15 to 1.35 cents per point, so that’s like saving ~50%!

Buying IHG points makes sense if you use them for stays in expensive cities.  Or to book 5,000 IHG point PointBreaks hotels.

But do the math to make sure you’re getting a good deal.  And remember, you’ll need an IHG loyalty account to redeem the points (it’s free to join!).
