Update:   One or more card offers in this post are no longer available.  Check our Hot Deals for the latest offers.

AMEX is running a terrific targeted promotion for Starwood Preferred Guest® Business Credit Card from American Express cardholders.

If you qualify, you’ll earn 10,000 bonus Starwood points after you register and spend $10,000 on eligible purchases by June 30, 2017.

That’s a lot of spending, but because Starwood points are so valuable and flexible, this deal is worth it for many folks.  It’s like earning 2 Starwood points per $1 (or 2.5 airline miles per $1 if you transfer Starwood points to airline miles) on your everyday purchases!

When you enroll your Starwood Preferred Guest® Business Credit Card from American Express in this offer, you’ll earn a bonus of 10,000 Starwood points when you spend $10,000 on eligible purchases by June 30, 2017.

Only purchases you make after enrolling will count toward meeting the $10,000 spending requirement.  And while authorized users are NOT eligible to earn bonus points, any spending they make WILL count toward the required spending!

If You Enroll Today, You’ll Have ~3 Months to Spend $10,000 and Earn 10,000 Bonus Starwood Points

This is a very good deal!  With the Starwood Preferred Guest® Business Credit Card from American Express, you’d normally earn:

With the promotion, you’ll essentially earn an additional Starwood point per $1 if you spend exactly $10,000 on purchases, or at least 20,000 Starwood points total (10,000 points from spending + 10,000 bonus points).

That’s enough for 2 nights at a category 4 Starwood hotel, like the Sheraton Kona Resort & Spa Keauhou Bay in Hawaii.

Use 20,000 Starwood Points for 2 Nights at the Sheraton Kona Resort & Spa Keauhou Bay, on the Big Island of Hawaii

If you prefer Marriott hotels, and you’ve linked your Marriott and Starwood accounts, you can transfer points between your Starwood and Marriott accounts at a 1:3 ratio.

So 20,000 Starwood points is worth 60,000 Marriott points – enough for 6 nights at a Marriott category 2 hotel, like the Fairfield Inn & Suites Watertown Thousand Islands.

Or transfer 20,000 Starwood points to airlines with a 1:1 transfer ratio, like American Airlines, to earn 25,000 airline miles (20,000 miles + 5,000 mile bonus).

Is It Worth Spending $10,000 on This Deal?

Million Mile Secrets team members Harlan and Jasmin received this offer on their cards.  They’ll be shifting regular spending to their AMEX Starwood small business card for the next few months to earn the bonus.

I’ve already shared why the AMEX Starwood cards are best for regular spending if you want to earn airline miles.  This promotion makes using the card for everyday purchases a no-brainer!

Using Your AMEX Starwood Card for Non-Bonus Category Spending Is Already a Good Deal – and This Promotion Makes It Even Better

That said, if you’re already working on meeting minimum spending requirements for this or other cards, spending $10,000 in 3 months might be tricky.  Here are a few ideas that can help.

And if you don’t yet have the Starwood Preferred Guest® Business Credit Card from American Express card, check out my review of the limited-time increased sign-up bonus, which expires April 5, 2017 (this Wednesday!).

Bottom Line

If you’re a Starwood Preferred Guest® Business Credit Card from American Express cardholder, you may be targeted to earn 10,000 bonus Starwood points!  To get in on the promotion, you must enroll and spend $10,000 on eligible purchases by June 30, 2017.

If you spend exactly $10,000 on purchases, it’s like earning 2X Starwood points per $1 on your everyday spending.  That’s an excellent deal, because Starwood points aren’t easy to earn and there are so many ways to use them.

It’s worth registering even if you’re not sure you can meet the $10,000 spending requirement, because it only takes a few seconds.

Let me know if you’re targeted for the offer!
