With This Deal, You Can Fly to the Stunning City of Madrid for Less. Or Just Get to Europe at a Discount!

Let’s take a look at the details of this offer.

25% Off Iberia Award Flights

Through April 11, 2017, you can book Iberia award flights for 25% fewer points.

The deal is good for travel through June 15, 2017, or for flights between October 1, 2017, and December 15, 2017, in any class of service.  But only on flights operated by Iberia and during off-peak times.

With this deal, you can book one-way flights from US cities like Boston, Chicago, and New York, to Europe for as little as 12,750 Iberia Avios points in coach, or 25,500 Iberia Avios points in Business Class.

And if you don’t have Iberia Avios points, you can transfer British Airways Avios points to Iberia to book these flights.

Iberia Award Sale
With This Promotion, You Can Fly One-Way in Coach From Boston to Europe for as Little as 12,750 Iberia Avios Points. That’s an Excellent Deal!
Note:   You will NOT be able to transfer points between British Airways and Iberia unless both accounts have been open for at least 90 days.  And each account must have had previous activity (like earning or transferring points).

Iberia is also an American Express Membership Rewards transfer partner.  You’ll get 200 Iberia Avios points for every 250 AMEX Membership Rewards points you move, and transfers can take ~3 days.

So you’ll want to make the transfer sooner rather than later if you want to take advantage of this deal!

Is This a Good Deal?

These award ticket prices are a great deal.  For example, a one-way flight from Chicago to Madrid in Business Class on other airlines would cost you:

  • 57,500 United Airlines miles
  • 57,500 American Airlines miles
  • 62,500 Flying Blue miles (but taxes and fees can be high)

But with this offer, you’ll pay 25,500 Iberia Avios points between the US and Europe for a Business Class seat.

With this Iberia discount, you HAVE to fly to Madrid.  But you can easily (and cheaply!) explore the rest of Europe from there!

Iberia Avios points are generally more valuable than British Airways Avios points because unlike British Airways, Iberia does NOT add high fuel surcharges.

And if your goal is just to get to Europe (and not necessarily Madrid), you can still do well with British Airways Avios points.  Read my post on how to use British Airways Avios points to fly to Europe for cheap with British Airways Avios points from 6 US cities.

For example, you can fly to Europe one-way in the off-peak season for just 13,000 British Airways Avios points in coach.  Without paying lots in fuel surcharges!

Bottom Line

When you book by April 11, 2017, you can save 25% off award flights with Iberia.

The deal is good for off-peak travel through June 15, 2017, or for flights between October 1, 2017, and December 15, 2017.  It’s also valid for coach, Business, and First Class seats, but only on flights operated by Iberia.

With this offer, you can book one-way coach award flights from US cities like Boston and Chicago, for as little as 12,750 Iberia Avios points, and Business Class for 25,500 Iberia Avios points!

If you’ve had both a British Airways and Iberia account open for at least 90 days (with activity in each account), you can transfer British Airways Avios points to Iberia instantly.  Or you can transfer AMEX Membership Rewards to Iberia.
