Via The Shutterwhale, you can earn up to a 100% bonus on Hilton points purchases through May 3, 2017.

If you need Hilton points for an expensive stay or want to top-off your account for a particular award, this could be a good deal!

Here’s more about Hilton’s latest buy points promotion.

Hilton Points 100% Bonus

Link:   100% Bonus on Hilton Points Purchases

Through May 3, 2017, you can earn a 100% bonus when you buy 5,000+ Hilton points.

Hilton has offered a 100% bonus on points purchases before.  But in the past, you needed to buy at least 20,000 points to qualify for the full bonus.  So a 5,000 point minimum purchase is an especially good deal for folks only needing a few more points for a stay!

Normally, Hilton sells points for 1 cent each, in 1,000 point increments.  So 1,000 Hilton points usually costs $10.

With this deal, you can buy Hilton points for 0.5 cents each when you buy more than 5,000 points.  Because, for example, you’ll pay $50 for 5,000 Hilton points and get a 5,000 point bonus.  For a total of 10,000 Hilton points, or 0.5 cents per point ($50 / 10,000 points).

The maximum number of Hilton points you can buy per calendar year (before any bonuses are applied) is 80,000 Hilton points.

So the most you can buy is 80,000 Hilton points for $800.  But you’ll get another 80,000 Hilton point bonus, for a total of 160,000 Hilton points.

Is It Worth It?

As always, I suggest doing the math to see what makes sense for you.

For example, nights at the beautiful Conrad Maldives Rangali Island can easily cost ~$900+.  But you’ll need 95,000 Hilton points for an award stay.

With this deal, you can buy 50,000 Hilton points for $500 and get a 50,000 point bonus.  That’s enough for a free night at the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island!  So you’re saving ~$400+ per night with this offer (~$900 – $500).

That said, it can be tricky to find award nights at certain popular hotels.  So be sure to check the award calendar before taking advantage of this deal if you have an upcoming stay in mind.

More Ways to Earn Hilton Points

There are lots of ways to earn Hilton points.  For example, you could sign-up for a Hilton co-branded credit card, like:

Or earn them indirectly by transferring points from American Express Membership Rewards, Citi ThankYou, Virgin Atlantic, or Hawaiian Airlines.

And remember to register for Hilton promotions!  You can currently earn 2,000 Hilton points per night for stays through April 30, 2017!

Bottom Line

Until May 3, 2017, you can earn a 100% bonus on Hilton points purchases when you buy 5,000 points or more.

I recommend doing the math to see if the promotion makes sense for you.  Because purchasing points for an award stay could potentially cost less compared to the actual cost of a room night.
