If you have Delta miles and a desire to see Asia, now’s a good time to book award flights!

Via Point Me to the Plane, Delta is having a coach award flash sale from the continental US to Europe until December 14, 2016 (tomorrow!).

You can fly round-trip to Asia starting at just 49,000 Delta miles.  But you must travel between January 10, 2017, and March 3, 2017.
However, there are blackout dates on flights to and from China.

For example, I found lots of available award seats from Dallas to Beijing for 49,000 Delta miles and ~$40 in taxes and fees.  That’s a great deal, considering these tickets usually cost over $1,300!

Use Hotel Points to Stay in Asia for Cheap!

There are lots of ways to get cheap or free hotel rooms with points from credit cards.  And you can take a peek at my favorite Hilton, HyattRitz-Carlton, and Starwood hotels in Europe!

My favorite tool for finding hotels you can book with points is Hotel Hustle.  And if you don’t have hotel points, you can transfer flexible points like Chase Ultimate Rewards or American Express Membership Rewards to different hotel programs.

Don’t forget about Airbnb!  It’s a fantastic way to save money on accommodations, especially for longer stays.  Here are some tips on how to negotiate a better Airbnb price, and how to find a safe and comfortable Airbnb.

You may have Delta miles available to you without realizing it!  Take a look at my handy chart to help you figure out which points transfer to which airlines!

For example, you can transfer American Express Membership Rewards points from cards like the Premier Rewards Gold Card from American Express or The Business Platinum® Card from American Express OPEN, to Delta at a ratio of 1:1.  And transfers are instant!

There are plenty of credit cards that earn Delta miles, like the Gold Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card from American Express, and the Gold Delta SkyMiles® Business Credit Card from American Express.  You won’t be able to earn the bonus miles in time for this sale, but you can at least prepare for the next sale!

Bottom Line

Delta is having a flash award sale to Asia!  Round-trip coach tickets from the US start at 49,000 Delta miles (30% off).

The sale ends December 14, 2016, and is good for travel between January 10, 2017, and March 3, 2017.

If you’re low on Delta miles, remember you can transfer AMEX Membership Rewards points to Delta at a 1:1 ratio.

Let me know if you book a cheap award flight!
