There are lots of questions circulating about the Barclaycard Arrival Plus right now!

That’s because it comes with a better bonus than ever before, which means you’ll get bigger travel than ever before!  One question I hear a lot is about when the Barclaycard Arrival Plus welcome bonus will post to your account.

Use Barclaycard Arrival Miles to Stay for Free at Hotels That Don’t Have a Loyalty Program, Like at the Blue Lagoon in Iceland!

I’ll tell you when the Barclaycard Arrival Plus sign-up bonus will post.  And show you why the time of posting is not as important as you might think.

Right now, The Barclaycard Arrival Plus comes with a 50,000 Barclaycard Arrival miles after spending $3,000 on purchases within the first 90 days of opening your account.  That’s worth $500 towards travel expenses.

Different Banks Handle Credit Card Sign-Up Bonus Delivery Differently

Some banks will deliver the bonus after the transaction that completes your minimum spending requirement posts.  Others will wait until after the statement closes in which you’ve completed your minimum spending.

Barclaycard uses both of these methods, depending on which card you have.

For cards owned by Barclaycard, like the Barclaycard Arrival Plus, the bonus will post after you’ve completed your minimum spending requirement.

But for co-branded cards, like the Barclaycard Wyndham Rewards, your rewards will post after your statement in which you’ve completed minimum spending closes.

A Great Last-Minute Credit Card Application

It’s great that Barclaycard is so prompt about delivering the Arrival Plus sign-up bonus.  That said, the time frame of the Barclaycard Arrival Plus bonus posting is mostly irrelevant.

Here’s why:

With most cards, like the Citi® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® World Elite™ Mastercard®, or the Premier Rewards Gold Card from American Express, you must complete minimum spending requirements on your credit card and receive the sign-up bonus before you book your travel if you want to use your miles & points towards reducing your travel costs.

But with the Barclaycard Arrival Plus, you can use the sign-up bonus for purchases you make from the very first day you have the card, long before you receive the sign-up bonus!

That’s because with the Barclaycard Arrival Plus, you can redeem miles for travel related purchases up to 120 days after they post to your account.  This means you can purchase your travel immediately upon receiving your card, and reimburse the cost later, after you complete the minimum spending and receive your bonus miles.

The Barclaycard Arrival Plus is a good card to get if you want to use travel rewards for a trip, but are leaving before you have the opportunity to earn the sign-up bonus.

Bottom Line on Barclaycard Arrival Plus Bonus Posting

When you open the Barclaycard Arrival Plus, you’ll earn 50,000 Barclaycard Arrival miles after spending $3,000 on purchases in the first 90 days of opening your account.

Your bonus will post after you’ve completed your minimum spending requirementBut that’s NOT the case for all Barclaycards.  With co-branded cards like the Barclaycard Wyndham Rewards, your sign-up bonus will post after the statement in which you’ve met the minimum spending requirement closes.

Hi there!

Wondering if I need to continue using the card after I have spent the $300, is there a monthly minimum spending?

Thank you!

How do you use the Barclay card arrival miles to purchase travel? Do those miles convert to airline miles?
Thanks

Hi! I have questions about the Barclay Arrival Plus card. Can I use the cash back to pay for my childrens cruises? I mean charge the cruise to my Barclay card but the cruise is in my kids names? Second question , if my husband has the card too can we combine points? and last, can we transfer points to family members not living on same address?
Thank you.

@Sheryl – Congrats!

@PJ – No, they don’t currently restrict the bonus to once per lifetime.

Is this a ONCE IN A LIFE TIME deal? I cancelled this card more than 2years ago.
