Primary Rental Coverage Is a Great Perk for a No-Annual-Fee Credit Card!

The card has a 3% foreign transaction fee, so it’s not a good card to use outside the US.

There is NO annual fee, so you never have to cancel the card!

What Can You Do With 30,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards Points?

The 30,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards point sign-up bonus from the Chase Ink Cash card is worth $300 if you redeem for cash back.  But it can be worth much more!

Transfer Points to Airline and Hotel Partners

If you have the Chase Sapphire Preferred, Chase Sapphire Reserve, Chase Ink Plus, or Chase Ink Bold (no longer available), you can transfer your 30,000 points to lots of great travel partners.  Transferring points is my favorite way to get Big Travel with Small Money!

I Transferred 30,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards Points to Hyatt for a ~$600 Hotel Room in Italy!

You can transfer 30,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points to United Airlines for a one-way award flight in coach to anywhere in Europe!  Or transfer them to Hyatt for 1 night in a luxury hotel, like the Park Hyatt Milan.

Book Paid Travel Through the Chase Travel Portal

The Chase travel portal is good for folks who need to fly on specific dates and don’t want to worry about blackout dates or limited award availability.  Plus, you can use your Chase Ultimate Rewards points for travel other than flights, like car rentals and hotels.

When you have the Chase Sapphire Preferred, Chase Ink Plus, or Chase Ink Bold, Chase Ultimate Rewards points are worth 1.25 cents each when booking travel through the Chase travel portal.  And they’re worth 1.5 cents each if you have the Chase Sapphire Reserve.

Who Should Consider This Card?

Chase has tightened their application rules this year, making it harder for lots of us in the miles & points hobby to be accepted for new cards.  If you’ve opened ~5 or more credit cards (from any bank) in the past 24 months, (excluding certain business cards) it will be difficult to be approved for the Chase Ink Cash card.

Because it’s become so hard to get new Chase cards, it’s best to apply for the ones that will get you the biggest travel first.  There are much more valuable Chase credit cards than the Chase Ink Cash, such as the Chase Sapphire Preferred, Chase Sapphire Reserve, or Chase Ritz-Carlton.

If you don’t have these credit cards, you would do well to apply for those first.  They can give you thousands of dollars in travel and benefits!

The Chase Sapphire Reserve Sign-Up Bonus Will Take You Wherever Your Wanderlust Demands

It’s a good idea to apply for the Chase Ink Cash if you have opened fewer than 5 cards in the past 24 months and have already applied for the other Chase credit cards you want.

Or, if you just want a solid no-annual-fee credit card, this is a good option.

Depending on your spending habits, this card can even earn you more rewards than the Chase Freedom card!  That’s because it’s possible to earn 5X Chase Ultimate Rewards points on up to $25,000 per year (on business expenses like office supply stores, cell phone, etc).  With the Chase Freedom, it’s only possible to earn 5X Chase Ultimate Rewards points on $6,000 per year (rotating categories like department stores, drugstores, and wholesale clubs).

Plus it comes with perks that are rare in a no-annual-fee card, like primary car rental insurance (when renting for business purposes).

Million Mile Secrets team member Scott has had this card a long time because it has no annual fee.  He uses it as restaurants (when his Chase Freedom doesn’t have restaurants as a 5X bonus category, of course!) to keep his small business expenses separate.

Remember, you don’t need to be earning millions of dollars to qualify for a small business card.  You may qualify for a business without even realizing it!

You can be approved for a small business credit card as a sole proprietor with just your social security number.  Take a look at my post on ways you might qualify for a business credit card.

Bottom Line

The Chase Ink Cash has a higher sign-up bonus!

You’ll earn 30,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points after you spend $3,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening.  That’s 10,000 points higher than the usual offer!

Earlier this year, Chase began tightening their application rules.  So if you haven’t signed-up for other Chase cards yet, like the Chase Sapphire Reserve or Chase Ritz-Carlton card, it’s better to get those first.

But if you’ve been thinking about getting this card, now’s a great time.  30,000 points are worth $300 in cash back.  And if you have cards like the Chase Sapphire Preferred, your points can be worth a LOT more when you combine your points and transfer them to airline and hotel partners.

Don’t write off the Chase Ink Cash just because it’s a small business card.  You may qualify for a small business card without even knowing it!

Will you take advantage of the new Chase Ink Cash offer?
