If you’re a new Chase Ritz-Carlton cardholder, you can earn 10,000 Ritz-Carlton bonus points by adding an authorized user to your account and making your first purchase (of any amount) within the first 3 months.

There’s no fee for adding an authorized user.  So it’s a free way to earn extra points!

Remember to only add someone you trust as an authorized user.  Because any charges on authorized user accounts are ultimately your responsibility.

Note:   Even if you’re not eligible for other Chase cards because you’ve opened 5+ new cards in the past 24 monthsyou’re still eligible for the Ritz-Carlton card.

If you and a partner apply for credit cards together, you could potentially earn double the bonus.

You Could Earn 10,000 Ritz-Carlton Points Adding an Authorized User to the Chase Ritz-Carlton Even If That Person Already Has the Same Card

For example, if you and your partner applied separately for the Chase Ritz-Carlton, you’d both be eligible to earn the 3 complimentary nights at participating Ritz-Carlton tier 1 through 4 hotels.

Then, to earn the 10,000 Ritz-Carlton points, add your partner as an authorized user.  And he or she can add you to their account as an authorized user to earn an additional 10,000 Ritz-Carlton points.

In the end, you could have 6 complimentary nights at Ritz-Carlton hotels and 20,000 Ritz-Carlton points!

Use Ritz-Carlton Points at Marriott Hotels for Big Travel

With 10,000 Ritz-Carlton bonus points, you can book a free night at one of the many Marriott hotels throughout the world.  Because Ritz-Carlton and Marriott are essentially the same frequent-guest program (just with different branding and marketing).  So you can use your Ritz-Carlton points to stay at Marriott hotels and vice versa.

For 7,500 Marriott points, you can get a free night at any Marriott Category 1 hotel like the TownePlace Suites Clinton at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland.

Or for 10,000 Marriott points, you can book a free night at any Marriott Category 2 hotel like the Residence Inn Providence Warwick in Rhode Island.

You can also use the bonus points towards a complimentary night at a Ritz-Carlton hotel.  The least expensive Tier 1 Ritz-Carlton hotels cost 30,000 points for a free night.

Marriott hotels include: Note:   The 3 free nights from the sign-up bonus can NOT be used at Marriott hotels.  But the 10,000 Ritz-Carlton points can.

3 Additional Benefits When You Add an Authorized User

Besides earning 10,000 Ritz-Carlton points, adding an authorized user can have other benefits.

1.   Meet Minimum Spending Requirements

You’ll need to spend $5,000 within 3 months to the earn the 3 complimentary Ritz-Carlton night sign-up bonus on the Chase Ritz-Carlton card.  Adding an authorized user to your account can help you meet the spending more quickly!

Because any purchases an authorized user makes also count towards the minimum spending requirements.

2.   Keep Gold Status With $10,000 in Annual Spending

One terrific perk of the Ritz-Carlton card is the automatic Gold elite status for the first year.  But to keep Gold status after the first year, you’ll have to spend $10,000 on the card.

So having an authorized user help you meet the $10,000 in spending can secure the great perks that come with Gold status like:

  • 25% bonus points on stays
  • 4:00 pm guaranteed late check-out at most Marriott and Ritz-Carlton hotels
  • Free breakfast and lounge access at participating executive lounges
  • Room upgrades (if available)

3.   Earn Extra Points

When your authorized user makes a purchase with their card, you get all the points!  This includes bonus spending, too, like:

  • 5X points at Ritz-Carlton and Marriott hotels
  • 2X points on flights purchased directly from airlines, rental cars, and restaurants

You can earn 10,000 Ritz-Carlton bonus points by adding an authorized user to your Ritz-Carlton card account and making your first purchase within the first 3 months.

Use the bonus points for Big Travel at Marriott hotels with a free night at any Category 1 or Category 2 hotel.  Or toward a complimentary night at a Ritz-Carlton hotel.
