You can earn 3X British Airways Avios points for flights between North America and Europe, when you book your flight and travel by December 11, 2016.

The promotion is valid for flights on British Airways and certain partner airlines, including American Airlines, Finnair, and Iberia.

All paid tickets qualify for the deal (NOT award flights!), but you must register.  The bonus British Airways Avios points will appear in your account within 24 hours of your qualifying flight.

Is This a Good Deal?

If you’re planning a trip across the pond this fall with a paid ticket, this could be a good deal.

This chart shows how many British Airways Avios points you’ll earn for flights, depending on what type of ticket you buy:

British Airways Avios Promotion 2016
You’ll Usually Earn Up to 100% of the Miles Flown for Economy Tickets With This Deal

With the 3X promotion, someone flying in First Class could earn up to 900% of miles flown (300% X 3).  While a coach ticket could earn you up to 300% of miles flown (100% X 3).

But the cheapest coach fares will only earn you 75% of your actual flown miles.  So be sure to check which fare class your ticket is in before you fly!

For example, on a round-trip flight between New York and London, you’ll fly ~6,902 miles.  With this promotion, you’d earn up to ~20,706 British Airways Avios points (6,902 X 3) for a round-trip coach flight between these 2 cities.

That’s enough for a free round-trip short-haul flight under 1,150 miles within the US, that costs 15,000 British Airways Avios points.  Or more than enough for a one-way award ticket from the West Coast to Hawaii, which costs 12,500 British Airways Avios points.

So, it’s worth signing-up, even if you don’t have a particular trip in mind.  Because it only takes a few minutes, and you never know when a travel opportunity might come up!

What Can You Do With British Airways Avios Points?

With British Airways Avios points, you can book award flights at great prices including:

Because British Airways has a distance-based award chart, the amount you’ll pay depends on the length of your flight.

But don’t forget, you’ll usually want to avoid booking award seats on British Airways because they add fuel surcharges to their own flights, which can add up to hundreds of dollars!
