If you have Delta miles or American Express Membership Rewards points, there’s an exciting flash sale for you!

Via The Points Guy, Delta has award seats to the Caribbean and Mexico starting at 11,000 Delta miles each way in coach for travel between September 6 and November 16, 2016.

But you must book before tomorrow, August 17, 2016, at 11:59 pm Eastern Time!

Need a Getaway? Visit the Caribbean Sooner Than Expected With Delta’s Discounted Award Seats!

I’ll share the details with you!

What’s the Deal?

Until August 17, 2016, at 11:59 pm Eastern Time, Delta has award seats to destinations in the Caribbean and Mexico (and Bermuda!) at a 35% discount.  One-way award seats start at just 11,000 Delta miles!

This is excellent news for folks with Delta miles or American Express Membership Rewards points.  Because AMEX Membership Rewards points transfer to Delta at a 1:1 ratio!

You can travel from any city in the continental US that Delta serves.  The sale is for travel between September 6 and November 16, 2016.

Consider Starwood Points for the Next Delta Flash Sale

You can also transfer Starwood points to Delta at a 1:1 ratio (and lots of other airlines, too!).  Plus, you will receive a 5,000 mile bonus when you transfer 20,000 Starwood points to airline partners with a 1:1 transfer ratio!

The downside is it can take a few days for miles to deposit into your account after requesting a Starwood points transfer.  So the flash sale may be over by the time your points are converted.  But, because these flash sales are monthly, you’ll be prepared for the next one!

Is It Worth It?

Absolutely!

I found a round-trip coach ticket from Cincinnati to Bermuda for 22,000 Delta miles in September 2016.  Cash tickets cost over $600!

This is less than the discounted off-peak award seats offered by American Airlines to the Caribbean and Mexico during the same dates, which costs 25,000 American Airlines miles round-trip.

And United Airlines charges 35,000 United Airlines miles for the same seat!

This is definitely a great deal for folks who have Delta miles saved up.  Let me know if you take advantage of this great sale!

I am not familiar with a lot of these places. Where is the best place to go and use Marriott points or Hilton points for hotels in combination with the flash sale?
