Million Mile Secrets reader MK is interested in the new offer for the Chase Ritz-Carlton card and commented:

Which airlines can you book through the Visa Infinite Discount Air Benefit site? Is Southwest excluded?

Great question, MK!

Tickets on most major US airlines can be booked through the Visa Infinite Discount Air Benefit site, but seats on a majority of the low-cost carriers (like Southwest!) can NOT.

Which Airlines Are Included In The Visa Infinite Discount Air Benefit From The Chase Ritz Carlton Card
You Can Use the Visa Infinite Discount Air Perk for Tickets on Most Major US Airlines, Like United Airlines

Here’s more about the Visa Infinite Discount Air Benefit that comes with the Chase Ritz-Carlton card.

With the new offer for the Chase Ritz-Carlton card, you can earn 3 complimentary nights at participating Ritz-Carlton tier 1 through 4 hotels after meeting minimum spending requirements.

And you’ll get other great benefits like a $300 annual travel credit for incidentals, Priority Pass Select membership, and a $100 statement credit for Global Entry.

Plus, you’ll get a $100 discount on domestic, round-trip itineraries for 2 to 5 passengers when you book through the Visa Infinite Discount Air Benefit site using your Chase Ritz-Carlton card.  And you can use the discount as many times as you’d like.

Saving $100 Each Time You and a Friend or Loved One Fly Together Could Really Add Up!

MK wants to know which airlines you can book with the Visa Infinite Discount Air Benefit.  Here are more details about this perk:

  • The cardholder must purchase the tickets.  And the cardholder’s name must match the primary traveler’s name on the itinerary.
  • The discount is per itinerary, NOT per ticket.
  • Tickets must be purchased at least 1 day in advance.
  • You can book your tickets up to 11 months before your departure date.
  • Bookings are non-refundable.
  • This perk can NOT be combined with any other offer, like upgrades, student fares, internet fares, and award tickets.
  • This perk will NOT work for one-way tickets or open-jaw flights, and stopovers are NOT allowed.

Which Airlines Are Included?

Most major US airlines will show up in the Visa Infinite travel portal, like:

  • Alaska Airlines
  • American Airlines
  • Delta
  • JetBlue
  • United Airlines
  • Virgin America

And most of the discount airlines are NOT included, like:

  • Allegiant
  • Frontier Airlines
  • Southwest
  • Spirit Airlines

So unfortunately, MK will NOT be able to use this perk for cheap flights on discount airlines like Southwest.  But it could still be useful for less expensive, short-distance, tickets on airlines like Delta and United Airlines.

Or even on more expensive tickets, because saving something is better than nothing!

It’s worth comparing prices between the Visa Infinite Discount Air Benefit site and other sites, to make sure you’re getting the best deal.  But folks have reported seeing the same prices on the airlines’ sites and sites like Google Flights.

For multiple cheap round-trip flights, this perk could really offer amazing savings!

Existing Chase Ritz-Carlton Visa Signature Cardholders Get the Visa Infinite Discount Too!

All existing cardholders will be automatically switched to the new Visa Infinite version of the card and be sent new cards in the mail.  Current Ritz-Carlton Visa Signature cardholders are already reporting being able to use the Visa Infinite Discount Air Benefit site using the information from their current card.

Bottom Line

With the Chase Ritz-Carlton card, you’ll get a $100 discount on domestic, round-trip itineraries for 2 to 5 passengers when you book through the Visa Infinite Discount Air Benefit site using your Chase Ritz-Carlton card.  You can use it as many times as you’d like!

The savings from this perk could really add up, especially if usually pay for a lot of short-haul flights or can’t use miles & points for certain tickets.

When searching for flights through the Visa Infinite Discount Air Benefit site, you’ll have the option to book with most major US airlines.  But low-cost airlines like Southwest and Allegiant are excluded.

@Steve - This wouldn't work because there has to be at least 2 passengers on the itinerary. And 1 of them must be the primary cardholder to get the discount.

Can you book air for family of 5, booking each individual flight separately and receive $100 credit for each?
