Some folks have been targeted to receive complimentary American Airlines Platinum elite status through September 9, 2016.

All you have to do is sign-up with the promotion code “HVC2B” by June 8, 2016.  The code will NOT work unless you’ve been targeted.

To keep the status through January 31, 2018, you’ll need to earn 12,500 EQMs (elite qualifying miles) between the time you register and September 9, 2016.  And you’ll also earn 25,000 bonus American Airlines miles!

Platinum Elite status members get perks like:

I am disappointed to read this post and see that I was not targeted. Previously an Executive Platinum, and now a Gold because of the horrible program changes.

In the old days they used to automatically for free soft land you from Executive Platinum to Platinum. As I only flew 26K miles last year. I got nothing. Oh wait, they did offer me something. They said I could get all the advantages of Platinum for only $1100 instead of $1200..... Maybe I should jump on that..... Lol


@Jay - Thanks for pointing that out. The Citi Executive card does offer Priority Boarding, and the other cards are Group 1. I've made the post more clear.

Just a small clarification, those Citi cards provide GROUP 1 boarding, not Priority Access boarding.
