On May 3, 2016, at 1:00 pm Eastern Time, you can buy Marriott gift cards for 20% off.  Daily Getaways will sell:

There’s a limit of 2 gift cards per order.  And they’re eGiftCards (delivered electronically) that NEVER expire!  So if you stay at Marriott hotels a lot or already have a paid stay planned, this deal is a no-brainer.

You can use the gift cards at more than 4,000 participating Marriott hotels including:

Marriott brands excluded from this deal are:

Will You Earn Points Using These Gift Cards?

Yes!  Because these eGiftCards are treated like cash, you’ll earn Marriott points, credits towards elite status, and points through any Marriott promotions, when you pay for stays booked directly through Marriott with these cards.

But they’re only good for the room rate and taxes, and in-hotel restaurants, spa, and activities.

You’ll Still Earn Marriott Points When Using These Discounted Marriott Gift Cards! That’s Great News!

You’ll also earn points or miles on whatever card you use to buy them!

Just remember, these cards are sold through Daily Getaways and not through Marriott.  So they will NOT be considered spending at Marriott…if you were hoping to earn extra Marriott points using your Marriott credit card.

Though folks report Daily Getaways purchases do code as travel.  A friend used her Chase Sapphire Preferred card for the recent Choice Hotel points deal and got 2X Chase Ultimate Rewards points.

Note:   Marriott states you’ll receive the eGiftCards in 10 to 14 business days.  So consider this if you have a stay planned in the next few weeks.

Extend Your Trip With Mix & Match Stays

I’ve written before about how to mix & match paid and award stays to extend your vacation.  Buying these discounted Marriott gift cards could be a great way to save even more on mix & match stays!

Bottom Line

At 1:00 pm Eastern Time on Tuesday, May 3, 2016, you can buy Marriott gift cards for 20% off through Daily Getaways.

This deal is a no-brainer if you pay for stays with Marriott often.  Or if you have a specific paid stay in mind.

There are a limited number of gift cards available.  And in the past they’ve sold out within minutes.  So set a reminder if you’re interested!

I have a trip planned later this week, and was hoping to take advantage of this. But waiting 10-14 days for an e-gift card is crazy. Guess I'll skip this one.
