There’s an increased public sign-up bonus on the Platinum Card® from American Express Exclusively for Mercedes-Benz!  You’ll earn 75,000 American Express Membership Rewards points after meeting the minimum spendingaccording to folks on Reddit.

The offer expires June 22, 2016.

You can transfer the points to airlines like Air Canada, British Airways, Delta, and Emirates for Big Travel with Small Money!

Emily and I don’t receive a commission for this card, but we’ll always tell you about the best deals!

I’ll give you the details!

For a Limited-Time, the Offer Jumps From 50,000 to 75,000 Points

You’ll earn the 75,000 American Express Membership Rewards points after you spend $3,000 on purchases with the card within the first 3 months of opening your account.  Again, the offer expires on June 22, 2016.

The AMEX Mercedes-Benz Platinum card has a $475 annual fee that is NOT waived.  But it comes with a $200 yearly airline incidental fee credit on certain airlines.  And access to airport lounges (Delta, Priority Pass, Airspace, and American Express Centurion Lounges).

You’ll also get a $1,000 certificate to use towards a future purchase or lease of a new Mercedes-Benz each year you charge $5,000 in purchases.

When you make your first purchase, you’ll get a $100 certificate to use on Genuine Mercedes-Benz Accessories.  And another $100 certificate each year you renew your card.  So for some folks, that might also make the annual fee more agreeable.

You can NOT earn the sign-up bonus if you’ve already had this card.

Note:   The offer terms say:

This offer is not valid for existing Platinum Card Members from American Express

That said, folks on Reddit say they’ve received the bonus for both the regular American Express Platinum and Mercedes-Benz Platinum in the past.

But technically, the terms say you can’t.  So apply at your own risk if you already have a different version of the American Express Platinum card.

A Few Ideas for How to Use 75,000 American Express Membership Rewards Points

Bottom Line

Until June 22, 2016, the Mercedes-Benz Platinum Card from American Express is offering a sign-up bonus of 75,000 American Express Membership Rewards points after the minimum spending.  The regular offer has been 50,000 points.

There’s a hefty annual fee of $475.  But it can make sense for folks who get use out of the yearly airline incidental fee credit and other perks.

Emily and I don’t receive a commission for this offer, but we’ll always share the best deals!

Is this benefit below, of this card means what I think it means? If you go to the rates & fees section on the mercedes website, it lists the following benefit among the ones discussed above:

20% Discount on Delta Commercial Flights

For air transportation provided by Delta, Delta Private Jet Cardholder is entitled to a 20% discount off published fares for select fare classes in effect when booked.

Can you please verify its true?

Thank you for your help.

I had the Mercedes card about 2 and half years ago. Do yoh think I have a chance of getting the bonus

Erm wrong. You can’t get the bonus if you have had this specific MB card before. It’s fine if you already have the regular platinum.

Can i apply for this Amex Platinum Benz card and HH honors 75k bonus offer Amex card both on same day?

One is a charge card and one is a credit card right? So it will be just one credit inquiry?

Kindly specify…and which card is charge card/which one is credit card?

Also HOW MANY AMEX credit/charge cards can one have at one point of time…?

D&E: Any info on this?

Am I understanding this correctly? I will have to select an airline of choice. Spend $200 with that airline then get a credit statement. Can this $200 be spent on luggage fees? I am reading that some pax choose their airline, then go to the airline portal and buy Amazon gift cards? Or are they buying airline gift cards through Amazon via the portal? Thanks for clarifying.
