I am posting this question in this page even though it is not relevant. I was not sure where to post. So my apologies up front.

I am planning for an India trip in 2017 and we are a total of 3 travelers. I am planning to book all 3 tickets using miles and if we get lucky a business class one way. For an economy class booking I estimated that I need 235K United or transferable points if I travel through Air India [United and AI are partners]. I currently have

1. Chase Freedom [10 K remaining after some travel this year using the UR points]

2. Chase Sapphire [50K remaining after some travel this year using the UR points]

I was planning to get a United credit card when they offer 50K points and have a trip scheduled to India this year via Air India and hoping to gain some miles there [approx 10K]

That leaves me with 120K points and am short by 115K[I can buy AI through UR portal at a lower than 85K rate also] So the actual deficit could be around 105K. Can you help me in creating a strategy to achieve the goal? I am not an avid spender. My wife is a stay at home Mom and hence can’t enroll into many credit cards and we don’t have any business to apply for Business credit cards. Any help to close the gap will be greatly appreciated.

@Samuel – I’m reviewing them very soon. We will be in touch – thank you for applying!

@Lydia – You can get a Chase card again as long as you hadn’t received the bonus in the previous 24 months AND you don’t have the card currently open. So it goes by when you receive the bonus.

You can always try to call Chase and ask them!

Good luck!

This question might be asked by someone else. However, if anyone can help to explain more to me, I would be greatly appreciated. For the rule set by Chase of not applying for churning the same credit card within 24 months, 24 months start to count from the date when I receive the promotion offer, or from the date when I cancel the card? Is there a way to find out the date when I close the account somewhere if I don’t keep a record on hand? Thank you!
