2015-10-25_16-43-15Remember, you can usually cancel IHG award bookings without penalty (but double check the hotel cancellation policy before booking!).  So there’s no harm in booking now, because you can always get your points back.

Need More IHG Points?

There are lots of ways you can earn IHG points:

  • Chase IHG Rewards Club Select Credit Card60,000 IHG points when you spend $1,000 on purchases in the first 3 months of opening your account.  The $49 annual fee is waived the first year.  And you get a free night on your cardmember anniversary each year (well worth the annual fee!)

You can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to IHG at a 1:1 ratio.  I don’t usually recommend this, because you’ll often get more value by transferring Chase Ultimate Rewards points to partners like Hyatt and United Airlines.

However, transferring points to get a PointBreaks stay may be worth it!

Bottom Line

You can book any hotel on the IHG PointBreaks list  fo just 5,000 IHG points through January 31, 2016.

Don’t wait, because the best hotels fill up quickly.

This is a terrific deal if these hotels fit into your travel plans.  You’ll save 5,000 to 45,000 IHG points per night!

Remember, you can usually cancel an IHG award stay without penalty (but check the hotel cancellation policy).  So there’s no harm in booking now and canceling later if plans change.

Which of these hotels is most interesting to you?

Are these informations up to date?

Tried booking Bali Benoa since I’ll be in Bali anyway (!) And it says no Reward nights are available. Is it possible they’ve booked up this fast?! Is there any chance overeager bookers cancel and the hotel reopens up award space, or is it likely I’m just SOL on this one? Thanks for your advice. I’ll check back often if you think hotels are prone to reopen but don’t want to waste my time.
