Some folks like to time their credit card applications around big purchases so it’s easier to meet the minimum spending requirement. But a card can take a week or more to arrive in the mail.
A few credit card companies will expedite delivery of a new card. And a couple will even give you an instant account number!
I’ll let you know the fastest way to get your new card!
Which Banks Will Send You a New Credit Card Fast?
Sometimes folks want to get their new credit cards as quickly as possible.
A few reasons why:
- Because they are traveling soon
- To repair something
- To take advantage of a limited-time deal
- To use for work
Usually, a card takes 7 to 10 business days to arrive. But some banks can get you the card a lot faster!
And remember, the time you have to meet minimum spending requirements does NOT start when you receive and activate your card. It starts as soon as your new account is opened, usually the same day you’re approved.
For other AMEX cards, you’ll have to call after you’re approved and ask the AMEX representative if they can rush delivery of your new card. Some folks have found success by explaining their situation.
You can always call AMEX and ask if they’ll rush it to you! Or make your account available to you immediately.
Bank of America
Some folks have reported getting their account information instantly with the Bank of America Alaska Airlines card.
If you are NOT given the option when you apply for Bank of America credit cards, ask if they will give you the information about your new card over the phone.
Barclaycard will overnight their credit cards for a ~$30 fee. Or send them within 2 days for a $15 fee.
If you apply for a premium Barclaycard, like the Barclaycard Arrival Plus, you can ask to get the fee waived.

But Chase should be able to overnight any of their cards if you call.

I spoke with a U.S. Bank representative, who told me it is possible to get ANY U.S. Bank credit card rush shipped.
There is an expedited shipping fee of $15 or $25, depending on the card. They estimate is takes 2 to 3 days to receive the card (1 day to print the card, and 1 to 2 days to ship it) if you receive instant credit approval.
And the U.S. Bank FlexPerks Travel Rewards American Express Card earns 20,000 FlexPoints after spending $3,500 on purchases within 1st 4 months of opening your account. This card can be a good deal, depending on how you like to travel.
