Until June 17, 2015, you’ll earn a 100% bonus when you buy Hilton points. So you’ve got 1 week left!
Normally, Hilton sells points for 1 cent each, in 1,000 point increments. So 1,000 Hilton points usually costs $10.
With this deal, you can buy Hilton points for 0.5 cents each. So you’ll pay $10 and get 2,000 Hilton points!
Let’s see if it’s worth buying Hilton points through this promotion!
What’s the Deal?

You’ll earn a 100% bonus when you purchase Hilton points through June 17, 2015, at 11:59 pm Eastern Time. With the bonus, you’ll pay 0.5 cents per Hilton point.
You can buy a maximum of 80,000 Hilton points per calendar year (before any bonuses are applied).
So the most you can buy is 80,000 Hilton points for $800. But you’ll get another 80,000 Hilton point bonus, for a total of 160,000 Hilton points.
This could be a good deal, depending how you use the points!
Pay With Points Instead of Cash!
If you have paid Hilton stays coming up anyway, you could save money by purchasing points instead and using them for award nights.
And remember, Hilton elite members get the 5th night free on award stays. So if you have a longer stay approaching, you could save even more.
This could also be good for folks looking for a few more points to top-up their Hilton account for an award stay.
1. Lower Category Hilton Hotels
A paid night in July costs $79 plus tax, or ~$89.
But if you purchased 10,000 Hilton points through the 100% bonus promotion, you’d pay $50 (5,000 Hilton points x 1 cent per point + 5,000 point bonus).
That’s a savings of ~$39 (~$89 cash price of room – $50 cost of 10,000 Hilton points). Not bad!
2. Mid-Category Hilton Hotels
Or you could pay $189 plus tax per night, or ~$213.
Instead of paying cash for this room, you could buy the 20,000 Hilton points for an award night through the Hilton 100% bonus promotion. And you’d only pay $100! (10,000 Hilton points X 1 cent per point + 10,000 point bonus).
You’d save ~$113 by using purchased points for an award stay (~$213 cash price of room – $100 cost of 20,000 Hilton points). That’s a much better deal!
3. Top-Tier Hilton Hotels
A night here in January costs 80,000 Hilton points. Or if you paid cash, it would cost $634 plus taxes and a resort fee, or ~$753. Ouch!
By purchasing the 80,000 Hilton points required for an award night through the Hilton 100% bonus promotion, you’ll pay $400 (40,000 Hilton points X 1 cent per point + 40,000 points bonus).
So you’d save ~$353 (~$753 cash price of room – $400 cost of 40,000 Hilton points).
Paying $400 for a 1-night stay isn’t exactly Big Travel with Small Money, but if you would have paid cash for a room anyway, it’s a great savings.
Note: With any hotel, make sure there are award nights available on the dates you want before you buy points through this deal!
And remember, you won’t earn Hilton points on your stay, because you’re booking an award night. But it’s worth it if you’re saving lots of money!
You won’t necessarily save money at ALL Hilton hotels using this method. So do the math before you book!
There Are LOTS of Ways to Earn Hilton Points!
If you don’t want to spend money buying Hilton points, there are many other ways to get Big Travel with Hilton!
For example, you’ll earn weekend nights or Hilton points after completing minimum spending with the sign-up bonuses from:
- Hilton Honors™ Card from American Express
- Hilton Honors™ Surpass® Card from American Express
- Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve Card
- Citi Hilton HHonors Visa Signature Card
Remember, you can also transfer miles and points to Hilton from other award programs.
For example, you can transfer American Express Membership Rewards points, Hawaiian Airlines miles, and Virgin Atlantic miles to Hilton at a 2:3 ratio.
So you’ve got lots of options to earn Hilton points through credit card bonuses and spending!
For a limited time, you’ll earn a 100% bonus when you purchase Hilton points. With this deal, you’ll only pay 0.5 cents per point, instead of the usual 1 cent per point.
But you have to buy the points before 11:59 pm Eastern Time on June 17, 2015. So you’ve got 1 week left.
If you have paid Hilton stays coming up, it could be worth buying points through this deal. You’ll sometimes save Big Money by using purchased points for an award night instead of paying cash.
That said, there are plenty of other ways to earn lots of Hilton points.
