Some folks are getting offers of 80,000 IHG points on the IHG card. However, Emily and I weren’t 1 of them. :(.
For folks who weren’t targeted or who aren’t eligible for the 70,000 IHG point offer but want to earn IHG points quickly, there’s another way.
The points are easy to get but is it worth it?

Link: Earn miles for dining
New IHG Rewards Club dining program members can get up to 5,000 IHG points when they complete 4 dines of $30 or more and answer follow-up surveys within 30 days of dining.
Step 1 – Sign-Up for the IHG Rewards Club Dining Program
Create a free new account by April 1, 2015.
When you sign-up for IHG Rewards Club Dining email offers you’ll earn 5 IHG points per $1 spent at participating restaurants, bars, and clubs. If you don’t opt-in, you’ll earn 1 IHG point per $1.
Note: You might consider using a junk email address for deals like this so your personal email doesn’t get overloaded.
Step 2 – Enter Your Information
Create a username, password, and fill in your personal details and your IHG Rewards Club number.
Step 3 – Enter Your Credit Card Number
Then add the credit card you’ll use when you dine.
You get 2X Chase Ultimate Rewards points on dining when you use your Chase Sapphire Preferred card. So you could earn 7X points (2X Chase Ultimate Rewards points with Chase Sapphire Preferred + 5X IHG points with Rewards Network) at Rewards Network locations.
Step 4 – Spend $30 Within 30 Days
You’ll earn 2,000 IHG points after spending at least $30 (including tax and tip) within 30 days on a single dine at any of the over 10,000 participating bars, clubs, and restaurants.
Step 5 – Review the Restaurant
Then complete a survey within 30 days of your visit.
Your IHG points will post within 4 to 6 weeks!
You can repeat Steps 4 & 5 three more times to earn 1,000 IHG points for your 2nd, 3rd, and 4th review.
Is It Worth It?
With this promotion you have to spend at least $120 to earn the full 5,000 IHG points.
You can buy 5,000 IHG points at the normal price for 1.3 cents each ($65). Or buy 5,000 IHG points for $35 (.7 cents per point) using the cash and points trick.
But you can only register a card with 1 dining program at a time. So your Chase Sapphire Preferred will earn you IHG points or Hilton points at Rewards Network restaurants but not BOTH.
New IHG Rewards Club dining program members can get 2,000 IHG points by creating a free dining profile by April 1, 2015. And then within 30 days, spend $30+ including tax and tip at a Rewards Club restaurant, and complete a short survey.
You can do this up to 4 times total to get 5,000 IHG points.
Spending $120 for 5,000 IHG points isn’t worth it because you can buy 5,000 IHG points for as low as .7 cents per point.
But it could be a good deal for folks who would be eating at the included restaurants anyway.
