Like the Freedom card’s quarterly bonus categories, you can get up to $75 cash back each quarter on bonus categories with your Discover card.

For the 1st quarter of 2015, you can get 5% cash back on gas and ground transportation.  This means you can get up to $75 cash back for filling your tank or using services like Silvercar or Uber.

And through December 31, 2014, you can get $100 for each person you refer to Silvercar when they do a 2 day rental.  You can get a $30 Uber credit when you refer friends by November 23, 2014.

You Get 5% Cash Back on Ground Transportation Like Uber, With the Discover Card From January to March 2015

The Discover card is great for folks who like cash back.  And it’s 1 of the few no annual fee cards with NO foreign transaction fees.

Although my favorite card for cash back is the American Express SimplyCash card.

I don’t get a commission on the Discover card, but because of the mother-in-law rule, I always tell you about the best offers.

Bottom Line

Today you can activate your card for the new Discover bonus categories.

You can get 5% cash back on gas and ground transportation from January 1, 2015, to March 31, 2015, with the Discover card.  But only when you activate!

The Discover card offers up to $75 cash back on bonus categories each quarter, similar to the bonus categories on the Freedom card.

Which is your favorite cash back card?

Do you know which gas stations carry visa gift cards (and more importantly allow purchases with a credit card)?TIA

@yeshu – It varies based on the gas station and best advice is to check out a few gas stations in your neighborhood.

Thanks for the heads up!
