There are lots of folks flying this week!  The good news for folks flying November 26, 2014, to December 31, 2014, you can get free Wi-Fi.

Stay Connected in Flight on November 26, 2014, With Free Wi-Fi

You get free Wi-Fi on all JetBlue flights from November 26, 2014, to December 31, 2014.

And you get 30 minutes of free Wi-Fi on November 26, 2014, on 7 other airlines, which I’ll tell you about.

So if you have to fly the day before Thanksgiving (on November 26, 2014), 30 minutes of free Wi-Fi might make a crowded flight a little less uncomfortable.

Most likely folks aren’t changing their flights to take part in this promotion, but it’s a nice surprise…if the speeds are fast enough and not frustrating which they can be when everyone is on Wi-Fi.

You get free Wi-Fi on all Fly-Fi equipped JetBlue flights between November 26, 2014, and December 31, 2014.  (Although this hardly makes up for the news that JetBlue is dropping its free checked bag policy!)

All flights from New York to Los Angeles have Wi-Fi.  For folks who aren’t flying from New York to Los Angeles, you can check if your flight is on a Fly-Fi plane the day before your flight here.

Free Wi-Fi is limited to 1 sign-on per person per flight.  So if you sign-off during your flight, you can NOT log back in again during the same flight.  But, if you have a connection, you CAN get free Wi-Fi on both your flights.

And you have to provide your email address.

Hi Daraius, thanks for the tip! Currently typing this comment from 36,000 feet on a UA flight. Also just confirming that the free 30 minutes of wifi is per device, not per e-mail address. After my 30 min expired, I tried to use another address but the promo screen had disappeared with no way to recover it (tried deleting cookies, etc.). I do have three devices with me and three separate e-mail addresses, so I’ll be good for an hour and a half of free wifi this flight. Happy Thanksgiving!

Any thoughts about the free WIFI and people listening to sporting events or music on their phones WITHOUT headphones? This has already happened to me on a SW den-dtw flight….. I was astonished that no announcement was made to use headphones. It made for a very unpleasant flight for me. Thoughts on this… or suggestions?
