Update:   This offer is no longer available.  Check our Hot Deals for the latest offers.

Via FatWallet, you MAY be able to get a 50,000 mile sign-up offer for the Chase United Explorer card.  And you get 5,000 more United Airlines miles when you add an authorized user who makes a purchase.

The current public offer (& the link which earns us a commission) is for 30,000 United Airlines miles, so this is a great deal…if you can get it!

N
The 50,000 United Airlines From the Sign-Up Bonus Can Get You 2 Round-Trip Tickets to New York City or Anywhere in the Mainland US and Canada

But not everyone will be able to get this deal.  I’ll explain!

What’s the Deal & Can You Get It?

Link:   My original full review of the Chase United Explorer card

This offer for the Chase United Explorer card for 50,000 United Airlines miles is better than my link for the card.  But Emily and I will always tell you about a better offer, even when it doesn’t earn us a commission.

With this offer, you’ll get:

  • 50,000 miles after you spend $2,000 in the 1st 3 months
  • 5,000 miles after you add an additional card holder & make a purchase
  • 2 miles per $1 you spend on United Airlines
  • 1 mile per $1 you spend on everything else
  • Free 1st checked bag saves up to $100 per round-trip
  • Priority boarding
  • 2 United Club lounge passes per year
  • Access to more award seats on United Airlines
  • $95 annual fee, waived for the 1st year
  • No foreign transaction fees

This offer expires September 30, 2014.

You Can Use the Sign-Up Bonus for a Round-Trip Ticket to Hawaii and Have Miles Leftover

The 50,000 sign-up bonus on this card could get you:

  • 2 round-trip domestic (Mainland US and Canada) coach class tickets (25,000 miles each)
  • 2 1-way coach class tickets to Hawaii from the Mainland US (22,500 miles each)
  • A 1-way saver award coach class ticket to South America, Asia, Africa, Europe, the Middle East, India, or Australia (between 20,000 and 42,500 miles)

You can read my original review of the card.

When you go to the application page, you’re required to enter your United Airlines MileagePlus number.  Some folks report they can only see the 30,000 mile offer.  So it looks as if this offer is targeted to specific customers.

If you don’t have a United Airlines MileagePlus number, you can sign-up for a free account directly on the application page.

Remember, you can also currently get 50,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points with Chase Ink Plus or Chase Ink Bold.  And 40,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points from the sign-up bonus for the Chase Sapphire Preferred.  Those points can be transferred to United Airlines.

Bottom Line

There’s a better offer for the Chase United Explorer card for 50,000 United Airlines miles when you spend $2,000 within the 1st months.  And you get 5,000 more miles when you open an authorized user card and make a transaction.

This offer expires September 30, 2014.

But not everyone will qualify for this offer.  You’ll have to enter your United Airlines MileagePlus number to find out!

Our link is for 30,000 miles but we’ll always tell you about a better deal even when it doesn’t earn us a commission.

Since December, I have flown three times on United, and was very impressed. Can those miles

be put on my new account?

William E. McDougald

I have a United Mileage Plus Card presently. I would like to upgrade to the United Explorer Card. At the time my wife renewed her United Explorer Card there were one each. Second was destroyed. I was using a Mileage Plus Business Card. As we do a lot of traveling we occasionally get stranded at an airport. I have an invitation to join the United Explorer Card thru 31 Jan 2017. I would like to accept.

WOULD LIKE TO UPGRADE MY PRESENT UNITED CARD .

THANKS

I would like to sign up for this card, but I am INFURIATED that you do not include a telephone number to call if so desired. There are MILLIONS of people out lthere who either do not have a ;computer or do not wish to use it. I support them.
