Starwood points transfer to Alaska Airlines miles at a 1:1 ratio.  And remember, when you transfer 20,000 Starwood points to an airline, you get 5,000 bonus miles.

Note: Starwood transfers are NOT instant and could take a few weeks.  So the  award seats you want might not still be available.

You can get Starwood points from the Starwood Preferred Guest Credit Card from American Express and the Starwood Preferred Guest Business Credit Card from American Express.

And you can get Alaska Airlines miles with the Bank of America Alaska Airlines Visa Signature Card.

Bottom Line

The Alaska Airlines Fall Award Sale is a good opportunity to save miles when flying from the participating cities.  So if you’d like to take an award flight between August 30, 2014, through October 31, 2014, this is a good deal.

That said, there are many ways to use Alaska Airlines miles.  So don’t feel like you’re missing out if you can’t travel during these sale dates!
